Ok, so I guess this is an official 3rd build only in that it is the 3rd time I have posted one up. There where a couple of builds here and there between my threads but nonetheless. I have finally figured out my V1 Plume thanks to atroph and his toothpick neg post hole plugging idea. I think it was him. Please correct me if I am wrong atroph.

Anyway, I love threads with pix so here we go again. :D

This was initially in the classic bow-tie style wick when first installed. I then trimmed the sides next to the posts somewhat flush and then trimmed the outer edges to flow with the curve of the atty as best I could.

Next, I primed it up.

And then, vaped it all away.

I'm quite sure that this doesn't need to be seen by you guys but might help some n00bs so am posting the following 2 pix for their enlightenment.

After about a 5 hour session.

From the end. For Jeremy mostly or anyone else that understands wick collapse syndrome. Happy to report that there is none here.

Oh yeah, here you can also see the toothpicks blocking off the neg post holes in the next two pix as well. Thanks atroph! :toast:

From the ends again.

And, lest we forget, the other side.

Fully involved.

A truly fine vape experience if I do say so myself.

Wet, thick, luscious, flavored vapor. Nailed it!

For those interested - 26g Kanthal, 5 wraps each coil. .34
Ω. My happy place. :vapor:

It took me about 4 wick jobs to get my Plume Veil NOT to leak from the negative post holes. Now it's perfect. You have keep your coils as far away from the negative posts as possible and keep the wicks from touching those negative post airflow holes.

The first time I built mine, I neglected staggering the positive post connections (I'm used to 3-post attys like the Tobh) and juice leaked all over the place.

My Plume Veil is a clone and the o-rings on this one seem to be pretty thin; the top and bottom caps slide around and come off way too easily. Does anyone know if this is an issue with the authentic? I'd love to know what size these rings are so I can replace them with thicker ones...

Another issue: the top cap airflow adjustment (that delrin piece the drip tip goes into) is kind of wonky. I can't screw it down all the way (full bore) without the top cap wanting to pop off. This isn't as big of deal though because the airflow is quite good even with these airflow holes closed all the way. I would imagine that tighter o-rings may alleviate this issue a bit.

I think the reason mine does not leak via the side air holes is I don't use anywhere near as much wick as you guys do, at least they don't extend anywhere near the new posts as what I see a lot of folks doing.

I'm quite the opposite. I actually used that much wick to help stop it from leaking through the neg post air holes prior to plugging them.

Mine's an authentic and I don't have either of those issues. In fact, the top cap is super tight.

Ive noticed with the plume veil 1.0 a tighter wick prevents collapse. I have both rayon and Koh gen do and even thou i like how fast the rayon wicks, I like the flavor that comes thru or lack of flavor that comes thru from the Koh gen do plus it wicks great as well.
I love my plume veil 1.0 but it is a clone and it does leak mike a .... out the neg post.
I got my name on the waiting list for the 1.5 which I have looked at and they changed the angle of the neg post airflow hole so that it comes on a slant which will prevent leaking unless you seriously over fill it.

yeah, I should try to see if I can get a v1.5 myself. I believe it also has 4 top cap air holes.

Correct. THey added 2 more holes in the top cap for a total of 4. They made the airflow on the coils a little bigger. They angled the airflow on the neg post to prevent leaking and they made the drip well a little bigger to help minimize leaking. All in all it looks like a great atty. I cant wait for them to come in stock.

In the meantime I ordered a Hobo atty last week and im waiting for it to come in the mail. It said it was supposed to be here on monday and it still hasnt arrived. And I havent received and tracking updates since monday night :(

That sounds like some really great improvements. Got a link for pre-order?

Want a great dripping juice?

Phillip Rocke Grand Reserve - Creme De La Creme

Description: Phillip Rocke Grand Reserve - Creme De La Creme, boasts a flavor profile of "Hazelnut Cream with hints of coffee". The process used to make each batch includes using re-claimed medium Brandy Barrels, aged/steeped for 2-1/2 months (the barrels were used to absorb and round out some of the high flavor notes) then filtered to perfection. Actual Arabica coffee was extracted for this blend (for its sweet natural essence) and each bottle consists of 80% Vegetable Glycerin, 20% Propylene Glycol.

It's made in very limited quantities but is probably my favorite juice of everything I have tried and believe me, I have tried probably 75 or more different juices. This one is a real winner. For me anyway.

Now available at vaperev. Get it while it lasts.
