Is there a good way to get that sickening melted plastic taste of a mouthpiece (cartrige) out after you do a long burn with your pv in your pocket? It usually takes about half a day to get rid of that taste and I don't want to go through it again. Which begs the question; Is it safe to vape after that happens? And....can a melted cartrige be salvaged, or re-shaped to not be loose after it has been damaged in this way? They are starting to pile up.

I cant verify it (as I am too cheap to buy the stuff) but I have been told by several people that if you soak the atty in Pure Grain Alcohol (like Everclear) for a few hours then rinse and let it dry for a day, the taste will be gone. Course you will have to reprime the atty afterward, but it gets you around having to deal with that nasty taste.

Check with diyflavorshack, if I remember correctly I think that she said that her mix of 50/50 PG-VG fluid was supposed to get bad tastes out of attys.

As for the melted carts, I have never had to deal with them but they are plastic so I would suggest getting a candle and a pair of needle nose pliers, hold the cart over the candle, carefully so you don't set it on fire but just heat it up and when it starts to become soft use the pliers to mold it back into shape. I have never tried this but it might work.

I melted some cart fibers my very first day of vaping. That was the same day I decided I would never use carts again, and threw away all the filler crap which melted and gave me the worst taste I'd ever experienced

I now direct drip only, but I still noticed on my usb passthrus on heavy vaping sessions that the empty cart top I was using as a mouthpiece would still melt on the edges closes to the atty so I started slicing off most of the plastic in the carts so they don't sit as close to the hot atty

finally it was problem solved when I saw the brass tip mouthpieces from super T's manufacturing, got one for my 510 and bingo.. no more melted plastic

I ended up soaking for a half hour or so in 91% isopropyl (only had cheap vodka on hand and I would rather have the rubbing alcohol than that crap potentially poison me). Seemed to work okay. 2 minute rinse out with warm water, quick dry, prime, and the nauseating melted plastic taste was gone.

I carry my nico stick everywhere and who the hell remembers to unscrew the atty? It was just in my jacket pocket and I was leaning over playing Mario Galaxy.....hmmm...what's that sizzle????

If you are talking about the cart that holds the juice, just toss it. They are cheap and its not worth the trouble to get the burnt taste out of it. If you are talking about the atomizer then it is worth trying. See the quoted post below.

This actually works pretty well. When I have an atty that needs a little cleaning I put 2-3 drops of PG/VG mix in it and just keep hitting it without inhaling. When it's gone I do a very short dry burn (manual batteries of course) and then put another drop of PG/Vg and see how it tastes. Usually one round of this is enough but I have had to do it a couple of times before.
