Yep far better to never "test" your protections even NOT on purpose, let alone ON purpose. Although, some of my provape gear has tested itself for me... The error codes work perfectly and they seem to be correct, but more like "Ohm's to high to fire," not "Let me see how overheated I can get my mod before I kill something."

Even with a 10 second cutoff, which to my knowledge is very common on just about all regulated box mods, it does reset and can fire again if in the same position and gets jostled on again. It doesn’t just shut the mod down, only stops firing while the fire button/bar is depressed. Release it and it will fire again. As this stuff usually happens when being carried around, if it can get depressed once it can get pushed repeatedly as you keep walking or whatever around with it.

I just checked my Alien 220W. It stops firing the coil at 10 seconds, but doesn't shut off. Release the fire button and press it again and it goes for another 10 seconds. On the Eleaf Invoke cutoff is adjustable to 10 seconds or 15 seconds and you have to turn it back on after it reaches cutoff. On the Alien I didn't find a setting for cutoff. There's a screen on time setting, but no vape time setting.

The mod turning off after 10 seconds only works if it one continuous press of the button. Multiple on and off presses probably won't turn it off.

Exactly. It's a failsafe feature the prevents melt down in a pocket or purse. I have taken it out of my jeans pocket a couple of times and found that it had turned off. 5 clicks and I'm vaping again.
