Well- I suppose vaping no nicotine juice would be good. It does taste nice.

Since I'm a nicotine addict- I'm not sure if vaping would be compelling with no nicotine. Hence I vape to not smoke.

But you might find it entertaining. But at the level of smoking you are describing, I'd use zero nicotine juices- of which there is a great abundance.

For me, the point of this is to NOT SMOKE, and I haven't since September. I smoked for over 30 years and tried everything to quit. Nothing ever worked. I really didn't think vaping would work, either. I just wanted to be able to get my nic fix without going outside or in the garage. The day I got my Riva is the day that I quit. I didn't plan it, but it just worked that way for me. I'm an "accidental quitter" and that pleases me greatly.

So that's the point...

It's not for everyone-that's for sure.

I agree with that - it's not yet for me either. I smoke/vape fifty fifty. Love vaping, but there is something in smoke that keeps me returning to them. The analogs taste worse and worse, like stinging needles up in my nose, but there you go. And there we have the good part: they taste worse and worse. Now, will I ever learn my lesson?

My transition wasn't easy or simple, I vaped and smoked for over a year. I quit completely a couple of times, then went back to the analogs. Once, after being analog free for a month, I had to go buy cigarettes when my NJOY order was seized by the FDA.

I have occasionally vaped and smoked analogs at the same time, PV in one hand and analog in the other

After discovering that lower voltage(wattage) seemed to make me crave analogs, I got a 3.7V mod with an LR atty and that is what it took for me to stop smoking forever.

I believe that any smoker can quit with vaping if they find their "sweet spot" PV and juice. It just takes some longer than others to find it.

You will, little by little. I'm sure of it.

Off Topic! Shannon, every time I see your avatar I laugh!

What keeps you returning to smoking is the other addictions to the other chemicals besides nicotine. Our bodies get used to all the junk besides nicotine and we have to withdraw from it. That is partly why the smoke is starting to bother you by your post. Your sense of taste/smell are slowly returning. Leave the cigs alone for a few days. I mean don't have any. Then try to smoke one. You'll be surprised that you can't stand them.

flyhigh,

I have been using my pv and analogs for the last year and 4 months. I started at 2 packs a day and transitioned down to two packs a week along with my ecig use. My adjustment period was longer than most here, but we're all different and deal with things in a different way. I have been smoking since I was 11 (23 years) and don't remember being a non-smoker...until last Friday....

I started e-cigs to stop smoking and I did. Though some people have a transition period where they do both while finding the will or the right equipment or the right juice to replace smoking completely, I think the majority of people here transitioned pretty quickly from smoking to only vaping, and some of those only bought the e-cig out of curiosity with no real intent to stop smoking, yet they did.

But it does require decent ecig hardware that is strong enough and economical enough. There are a lot of crap ecigs out there being sold by unscrupulous "name" brand vendors who care about nothing other getting a person's money and locking them into their particular weak or unaffordable system.

I researched here first, made a decent choice for my own needs, and after smoking 1.5 packs a day for several decades I switched easily to vaping. Now I am not inhaling 4000 chemicals and carcinogens, I am not causing second hand smoke, my sinuses cleared up, I can breath better, food tastes better. And I also plan to lower my nicotine habit which will be easier with vaping than with cigarettes.

I got a buddy who smokes quite a bit(well, compaired to me) I only smoke a few analogs in an entire week. Anyways, he smokes e-cigs too. He's not trying to quit smoking. He doesn't only smoke it when he doesn't have analogs, in fact he'll use it right after smoking analogs.

Why don't you ask him?

Maybe he has inferior hardware and/or ejuices that don't satisfy him. In the beginning I found fruity/foody juices were like desserts and they would give be a craving for an analog. So I had to stay away from those and use strong tobacco smell ejuices. Re inferior hardware - heavy smokers often need a fat battery ecig like Ego or Riva and those can also used more high power LR (low resistance) parts for a bigger hit.

I researched here first, bought good hardware suited to my particular needs (I was just a lights smoker), did a good job of choosing my juice nicotine level, and bought good quality tasty juices (lots to find ones that clicked with me). I stopped smoking immediately (and I had smoked 1.5+ pack a day for decades)

Some of my guesses:
1. The cig now tastes so awful to him that he has to wash his mouth immediatly with a good vape.
2. He's still making the switch over to full time vaping and his mind is still in "need a cig!" mode.
3. He's totally stressed out

My recommendation: Ask him how many cigs he hasn't smoked, not how many he has.
