Just received my asmart poldiac clone. Tomorrow evening I'll post pics however it is giving me some problems. Its not firing the way it should. when holding the button down it will often cut in and out as if I was pulsing it. what is the cause of this?

Mine is a DaVapes from fasttech. If you read thru the thread, you'll find the copper pin and o-ring fixes. I also suggest you clean everything with alcohol.

I applied some of this to the threads and contacts to lubricate and improve conductivity.

2 Ounce Tub CB Ham Radio No Ox ID A Special Conductive Grease All Antenna Metal | eBay

Works pretty well now and fires consistently. Sometimes you have to press the button pretty firmly.

Sand the firing pin to brass or swap it with a copper pin.

I gotta go to Home Depot when I get home from work this morning to buy more copper ground wire. I have four DaVapes clones in my car that need attention.
Gonna shim the plastic switch housing in the switch body so it doesn't turn when the ring is locked down, add little o-ring to 510 screw, make a copper pin for switch button, get the up and down sloppiness out of the shirt and collapse the battery spring a little.
I'm glad there are only four of them that needs done.

So I have fixed my Poldiac Clone so it now fires 99% of the time. Works amazingly well and I am really liking this asmart version. The cut-outs in the brass pieces are a little sharper than I would like but other than that I am very happy now that I have put some time and effort into it. I didn't replace the silver pin that came with it since it is silver and not plated but I did polish it up using my dremel tool a bunch. I also replaced the magnet that is in the back of the housing with a Magnetic Battery Spacer (Size: 1/16" x 5/16" (1.5mm x 8mm)) and superglued the one to the post. The new magnet is bigger and just fits into the delrin insert but it does fit (though it isn't ever coming out).

I added the o-ring to the top pin and that seems to have shored up the reverse threaded adjustable 510 pin greatly.

I don't find the short threading on the tube to be a problem at all.

All in all I am really impressed with this device.

Here are some picks of the asmart mixed poldiac version:

I'm gonna hafta do something with my FT clone. So I appreciate the input you guys are providing. Getting the pin out of the sliding button housing without deforming said housing is gonna be a bee-yotch.

I made a sorta half-arsed attempt at a temporary modification yesterday. I thought I had some large-ish copper wire, but it turns out what I've got is more like copper dental floss. So I tried to fold it over on itself several times to make a sorta....copper pellet.

When I couldn't (easily, anyway) get the original pin out, I thought about just placing a thin layer of this copper stuff just behind it, but I never got it formed well enough to seat properly and gave up. Which is just as well, since that wouldn't have done anything anyway. Sometimes I just blank on obvious things, like the fact that the connection between all points must be continuous if it's going to carry any current. lol@myself

The pin in the button of the DaVapes is a source of big problems, of the four that I slicked up a couple of days ago, two of them I put in copper pins and the other two I chucked them into my Dremel and removed the plating. All worked good in the end.

Mine also works ok now, thanks to your aid and advice.

I have to admit that, while I've returned to my kicked Nemesis clone, I enjoyed the DaVape's challenges and making it work with a few basic tweaks. It is a unique clone and allowed me an experience without having to invest in an expensive original. :D

I learned alot about how this mod works by breaking it down and trying to get it back together. originally I thought the pin made connections on the top and bottom so I polished the ends up really well. Then I figured it out when i put it back together for the first time (knocking the magnet off the button post in the process).

I took it apart again and polished the sides of the pin since that is were it makes contact. Works a treat now!

I didn't realize that.
So, getting that #($!ing pin out.....just takes a lot of force? I almost think that mine is epoxied in there or something.

I pushed mine through using a drill bit. It was snug and required some force but never so much that I was afraid if breaking the button. Once it started to move it pretty much slides straight through the other end.

Get something blunt to push it through.

White Stag Vapor has just listed a pre-order for a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) group buy for an all SS Poldiac. It looks super similiar to my asmart clone though the manufacture isn't listed. The listed price is $45 as opposed to the $70 I paid at Coval Vapes.

I don't know if adding a link to this vendor is allowed, so I refrained from doing so.

You're probably right about it being Asmart, for sure not Devapes, looks good.

I love my asmart for sure. It has all silver (not silver plated) contacts. The finish is beautiful with brass accents that are even and look great. The threading on the 18650 tube is a little short so I make sure it is really in there tight but have not had any problems with it coming apart. The cut-outs in the brass parts are slightly sharp around the edges, just slightly. They haven't cut me for sure, but when polishing with a microfiber towel they pull it once in a while.

Similiar to DaVapes, the button needed some modding. I re-glued the magnet to the post and polished up the silver pin and contacts in the button housing. I did not have to replace the pin with copper. Before doing this I was getting inconsistent firing (like it was pulsing on and off). Also I added an oring to the top 510 screw to help even that out somewhat.

All and all I love it.
