A lot of vanity plumbing is nickle/chrome plated.
The Gel Gloss works great but takes a few applications. It even leaves a wax on it to help prevent tarnish. Unfortunately for us heavy vapers, who have a hard time putting the Omega down, that wax soon gets rubbed off and tarnishes again.
Ok, seriously, is there a black one coming? Polishing this thing is getting tedious... I love the Omega, but dang...
I just got one of these. Comes with 3 Wheels and 4 different grits of the rouge or whatever the big crayons are...

This is a dumb question, but: does it work? Right now I have a very glossy dull gray Omega that has been through every cleaning method in this thread except the drill/buffer... stupid mirror finish...
You just need something a little bit more aggressive. Like a very light rubbing/cleaning compound. Like you would use on your car. Cleaning/polishing compound would work fine.
Or the buffing pad on a drill might do it.
Yeah I never quite got the past owner's tarnish off my Omega. I'll get one of those buffing wheel sets tomorrow and try it.
Dang my 'OMEGA" is as shiny as the day I received it, I only wipe it off with a chamois once in a while and a paper towel the other times, Chad I must have some great chemistry, hahaha
Mine has just begun to tarnish slightly, but I like the way it is looking with the "tarnish." It is still really shiny, but has a slightly cloudy look to it that adds some complexity IMO.
I ended up trying some Bar Keepers Friend on the Omega. This stuff works great on Stainless Steel for grease. It's a powder kind of like Ajax. Anyways it helped. don't get me wrong it doesn't look new but I'm happy with the results. If it stays looking like this I'll be content. I also used some Gel-Gloss afterwards to protect the finish.

Hey mister 1,000 + mod owner.... Some of us only have 1 or 2 and use them exclusively. We dont have the privilege of picking up a new mod every Toot and not touching the same one for a month. Maybe that's why yours is still shiny?

Do you use the white, black or red jewelers rouge OR just the plain dry muslin wheel? Thanks.
The black is for hard materials such as steel. The red will clean it up nicely, the white will give it an even brighter shine.
Also for those that hate polishing, I have a couple of finishes for the OMEGA that will be comming out late next week. I will attach crappy cell phone pics.
This is called Silver Vein, puts you in mind of some wrought iron products, it is a hard texture finish. It is what I would imagine some Midieval armor to look like
Of coarse we cannot leave out smoothe black, same as the BSB.
