Polishing Tip

....if you want to put a high polish on the aluminum or steel models, use Blue Jewelers Rouge

At the start it was moderately scratched, but after buffing out the scratches I used a muslin buff and the Blue Rouge. A good rule of thumb on polishing is 80/20/80. Polish out 80% of the scratches and improve the remaining 20% by 80%. You can never get them all, but that formula makes for a fantastic look

Thanks for the tip Para. Sorry I am a little confused did you use the rouge and the buff wheel after getting most of the scratches out or to get most of the scratches out?

And sorry to ask soo many questions but I really want to buff up 493 but am a little afraid of damaging it.

Nope....yours is in MUCH better shape than that one was. I've had this one for a couple of months and never got around to polishing it with the Blue so...today was the day.
