I spent this morning polishing my GGTB's. I love these because of the 7.4v stealth capability. These are so nice and slim and they fit perfectly in my shirt pocket.

I have 3. A brass one, a nickel and my latest one was really my first one. It was a regular nickel but the nickel had worn off. I looked into having it re-plated in nickel but could not find anyone locally to do it. By accident I found a local old timey lamp store that did in house silver plating. I mention this for the sake of anyone that's in a similar situation with their nickel.

I stripped the old nickel off of the GGTB down to the brass, then I buffed it out with fine rouge. I then dropped it off at the plater and he turned it around for me in a couple days. He plated it with a heavy coat of jewlers grade Sterling Silver and the result is outstanding. The charge for this was a whopping $15 bucks and any good lamp store will usually do silver plating.

The Sterling one is the one with the Amboyna drip cup. I made the drip cup out of a little chunk of Amboyna Burl because this is the mod I use when I go to meetings that require a suit and tie. I like to keep my mods in my shirt pocket and didn't want to run the risk of staining my shirt with juice.

My camera just isn't good enough to do these things justice.

As for the Flitz polish and wax, I've been using this for years on vintage guns and cannot recommend it highly enough. The polish is non abrasive and doesn't have any acids. It cleans up very well and buffs beautifully. The wax is also Flitz and is a combination of carnuba and beeswax and actually leaves a protective coating that protects against fingerprints. It also keeps the brass looking bright for a long time due to this.

Here's a better shot of that grip cup in case anybody wants to make one themselves.

oh my gosh i love all of it!! The PVs are absolutely beautiful and I adore that little drip cup! Do you sell them?
Hi, thanks. No sorry, I don't have the right equipment to make them in quantities but I'm sure some enterprising guy with a small lathe and spare time could capitalize on my idea. If so, God Bless, go forth and be fruitful. Just send me a freebie as a royalty ;)

You have really nive GGTB's, Torq. Does the silver plating get dark easy?
Hi Gredie
It tarnishes yes but the Flitz wax keeps it bright for a long time. It seals out the oxygen in the air so it doesn't oxidize as quickly. The silver color is also much softer than the chrome like brightness in the nickel. The only thing about the silver is it's soft so it will scratch easily. This isn't my everyday mod, the nickel one is.

Thanks Para. Although a have a lathe, i made this one on a drill press. Start off with a cube. Drill the cup hole first with a fostner bit. Then drill 1/4" thru hole and insert a 1/4" machine bolt and tighten with a nut. Take the assembly and chuck in a drill press and machine as if it were on a lathe but vertically.

hahaha, yes shiny to the max Torq!! If you cant see your face and make a haircut via GG mirror then its not well shined buddy

Thanks, and if you ever decide to re-introduce the GGTB, i'm sure you could sell a bunch to the stealthers, especially if you cut it down for a 16340. The thing would be tiny and i think would sell like hotcakes. Maybe more so than a 14500
