OMG! I just exposed myself to HV vaping. And, to put it mildly ... holy moly! I don't see any attraction, at all!!!

OK, the details. Appears to be 7.4V on a SR 510. I loaded two 3.7V 18350s into my P18. To make the PV function properly I'd have to remove a few washers from the switch, as two 18350s are longer than an 18650. But, I just didn't screw the top cap on all of the way. It was downright NASTY! Very hot, burned tasting, blech! Horrible ... give me back my LR & 18650 now, please, LOL

Well that is just a battery NOT Variable voltage , with a VV device you can TUNE it to taste and hit .

SO I guess you voted : Not tried it yet " ?

Yes, that was my vote. And I was just experimenting. Obviously I realize I wasn't playing with variable voltage. But, I did get a 'taste' for the upper range of what VVs can deliver. That trial showed me that 7.4V is way more than I like, LOL.
My 18650 reads a little over 4V when freshly charged ... I like that. :)

I've never paid more than $10 for a six pack of beer. Just not a connoisseur of beer and I suspect one would have to be somewhat the vaping equivalent to make it worth the extra money for a VV...I just recently got my P18, which blew my PV budget for a while.

Now, wait a minute...you're telling me you're a Joe 6-pack, meat-and-potatoes guy—not a connoisseur—which is why you couldn't justify, say, a Buzz (just off the top of my head) at $114.99 ($106.37 with the discount code), and why you settled for a $159.99 P18, arguably the Rolls Royce of fixed-voltage battery mods?

I've spent a little less for a Silver Bullet, significantly more for a Phidias bottom-feeder than I spent on a Buzz, and—hindsight is a .....—could have saved a fistful of very limited funds had I set aside beauty as a consideration and gone for regulated, variable voltage from the outset. Batteries sag. Atomizers vary from one to the next, even within the same make & model. Liquids are finicky beasts, very particular about wattage. The only way off of shifting sands and onto solid, unchanging ground is VV.

Well, PC, I know the P18 is pricey ... but, it's just so dang purdy and, you can't deny, impeccably made. I already knew I liked the 18650 experience because I had bought a BSB previously. Either of them are capable of HV, although not VV. I don't know that my palette is discriminating enough to benefit from VV, even though I understand your points .. really, I do. And, I am a bit of a gadget freak. A VV PV could appeal to the geek in me. And, I'm in line waiting for the release of the Eclipse eq. Maybe when I get it I'll see the light. :)

BTW, you can buy some pretty darn good beer for under $10 ... IMO, more than that would be extravagant. Or maybe bar pricing.
