While in the mall today, I witnessed a major rip off being pulled.
The e-cig kiosk had 2 or 3 people standing around it, being sold a cigalike kit (a brand I can't even recall because I didn't recognize it) for 60-somehing dollars. I passed them dragging to my ego+vivi mini set up, wishing I had the time to inform them of the many other vapor options they have.
Makes me want to print out a business card with the link to ECF and maybe vendor websites in hopes they will check it out before getting ripped off.

I am not by any means saying the cigalikes don't work or have not helped people, but this salesperson probably knows little about the vaping community and isn't half as passionate about it as some of you guys are!!

Yeah it's really messed up. I was in the mall a couple weeks ago and I stopped by the kiosk to look at an eGo kit that had 2 clearos attached to each battery. I asked the guy how much it was (I had NO intent of buying it I knew it would be a rip off, I was just curious) and he said "$250 for the whole thing, but i'll sell you one of them for just $150". I was too shocked to even tell him to go **** ******* (fill in the blanks with any of a hundred possible angry insults I was feeling all at one time) and I just strolled away almost in a daze. It was so outrageous it took me a minute to really comprehend what just happened. Next time I see those guys i'm going to wait until there's a bit of a crowd and announce it's crazy to sell a $30-40 kit for $250 as loud as I can.

it sucks, but most people have to learn the hard way, they buy an overpriced cig-a-like kit, and in a couple of weeks wonder why they still are crazy for ciggs, then they come to a place like ECF....
then again, some people really do quit with brands like blu.

But, seriously $250 for an ego kit.... i could get a big mod kit for that price wow!

You could buy a Provari, batts a nice charger, juice and an RBA for that price.... What the?!?! And the stupid part of it is, those idiots would make SO much more money if they made their prices reasonable. Every single time I ever pass that stand, I always see everybody walk away empty handed. I'm sure they either think that, one, it's too expensive off hand. Two, they do some research and realize it's a scam, or three they buy something, find out how much it really costs, and get angry and never go back again. I think they were selling crappy, 10mL bottles of what looked like some Chinese juice for like $30. Now THAT is highway robbery!

It's stuff like that that turns some people away from vaping. They shake their heads and just continue puffing away on the veggie matter.

I agree. When I first saw the e cigs at those kiosks a few years back, I was turned off by the prices and the array of d-bags puffing on them with their pinkies out and smug looks on their faces.

when I first saw those kiosks I was still in love with my lucky strikes. But once those went away and I was no longer in the military I started looking for alternatives. Wished I could have found this forum years ago. would have saved me from buying those ecigs that never worked for me that are just sitting in a drawer somewhere.

I visited a local mall and saw a kiosk.

Their highest nicotine strength was 12mg which of course is absurd.
And I told the "random employee" exactly that.

So she gets all defensive, because she has no knowledge, and eventually called her boss.
I talked to him on her cell phone.

Turns out he's just as ignorant as she was.

When I bought my first ecig i went through sort of the same thing but at a local smoke shop, I paid around $80 for a kit that was far from decent and over priced. Shortly after I found ECF and got a lavatube, im glad I didnt get taken for $250, thats just horrible especially when people are just trying to do the right thing and end there cigarette addiction!

I've only ever seen 1 kiosk in a mall. The guy running it was also selling those remote control heliocopters at the next kiosk. He was too busy selling someone a 'copter to try to sell me an ecig. But I should thank him because that night I found ECF & ordered A Riva 510 kit. I've now been smokefree for over 17 month. I no longer vape on the Rivas, I vape a ProVari & a Zmax, but seeing that kiosk brought me back to ecigs. I had previously used an NJoy to cut down on analogs. BTW, that stand is no longer there.

I like to walk up to those kiosks, hide my PV, and act like a total newbie. I love it even more when I know more than they do. Then, when they think they are about to have a sale, I whip out my PV and take a nice big hit. Laugh and walk away. It's just..... sad how the kiosks try to rip off people. One was selling 10ml bottles of juice for $20 the first bottle, $10 every bottle afterwards. The sad part, I personally knew their supplier and knew they were buying those 10ml bottles for $3 each...

Yeah, those kiosks suck in some ways but I am not sure how I feel about them. I mean, it is someone's business, and most of the stuff in the mall you can find better stuff cheaper online if you are knowledgeable. Would you walk into Macy's and stand at the jewelry counter and tell the guy looking to buy a watch that he can get the same thing online for 1/3 the price?
