I honestly just cant bring myself to tell you guys what made me cry. Its too much for me.
Basically, a rude old woman with a boston accent told me the owner didn't like me and didn't want my business.
And I'm guessing thats a direct result of going there with my lavatube or my juice and talking to his employees.

Don't take 'em personally. I can't stand going to the mall anymore with those stupid kiosks. You can't look those people in the face walking by! I had a lady yell at me from across the hall wanting to run a brush and straightener through my hair. I caused a little scene asking her when was the last time she cleaned the brush and straightener. Told her I am a liciphopbe and to leave me alone. Yuck! Innyhoo, IMHO that was good. Lavatube and your liquids. You pretty much told them to shove it anyways. They won't sell anything like a Lavatube if they know they can't unload them fast for $300 a pop. Plus they know you wised up and are getting your stuff from a better source!

My first PV was a Volcano (whatever the cigalike version is called). I was not a big fan of the prefilled cartos I got with it, but it worked and they had one or two flavors I liked. I cut analogs by about 75% with it, until I lost it - lol. Initial investment - about $120 (if I remember right)

My second PV came from a mall kiosk. An eGo-T kit. Total impulse. Got me to quit cigs for a while, until stress and boredom got the best of me. Initial investment - about $150

I randomly found my ego kit in a box about two months ago, and got back on it hardcore. Immediately went to 50% less cigs, then within a few weeks quit cigs altogether. By then, however, I had found you lovely people and lots of online vendors.

The mall kits are expensive, but they DO work for lots of people. I'm a PC tech and I see people every day that just WILL NOT shop online. I only know of 1 B&M store in the St.Louis area and it doesn't really do it for me (though their prices and juice quality are MUCH better than the malls). If it is an overpriced kit or smoking.... Hell, give 'em the overpriced kit.

That said, I DO think the kiosks are a ripoff... and some of the guys that work at them do too. One at my local mall that I stop by talks "shop" with me from time to time when his business is slow. We compare mods, he recommends online vendors to me, and I have a lot f respect for him personally... but all of the other workers there are asshats. I got one of my coworkers over there to buy one of those overpriced kits because I knew she would never take the plunge online. I made sure that she bought it from him. All of my other friends got kits from myfreedomsmokes. :)

one of the local shops here sells "a" joyetech 510 starter kit with 1 battery, 1 atomizer, 1 cartridges, charger and wall wort with pcc for $110 (not including 9.5% tax) not including any juice. (the ego is $150 with a pcc)

I feel the need to tell ppl they can get an actual 510 starter kit online or the other shop for less then $60/510 $70/ego with pcc and at least 15ml of juice.... i understand making a profit but.... really there selling there kit for more then double what they paid for 2 units

So I was walking the mall vamo in hand when the guy at the little stand sees me he asks what I have so I tell him "it's a vamo with a vivi Nova tank running an 18650 battery set at 8.5 Watts" well the guy just looks at me and say "have you seen these yet" well we all know it's a crappy cig alike so I get to talking with him asking about the juice he has as I'm all about trying every juice out there turns out he had no idea what pg or vg is. So I go on to tell him the my apv is a few steps up from what he is trying to sell me. He goes on trying to explain why his 70 dollar cig alike is the best thing ever. I had to stop him right there I offered him a drag off my vamo. You know what this fool says to me? Oh I don't smoke! What!? I mean he says he has never smoked or vaped I had no idea what to say at this point. How can you stand here all day telling people how awesome this is if you never tried it at all not even once. It's like working in a footlocker and you only wear flipflops! I just walked away as he was still talking. Next time I'm there and one of those guys tries to sell me one I'm going to ask to talk to a manager and see if they know anything and maybe offer up some advice. End of rant......

Call a popular high traffic Mall and ask the Main Office what rent runs, how long a lease they want, what shared utilities you must pay, what the sign requirements are, what hours you must maintain by contract, and what shared remodeling costs might be if they decide to remodel or pave the parking lot ..

The cost of doing business in an actual location like a Mall is way, way ahead of the Mom and Pop Work Out of the Basement and Garage ..

I get what you are saying, but also think about 1) people go online and search they don't know what to get. These people are telling them, and demonstrating for them a product. If the buyer likes it, why take the chance on going online to save a few buck and not know what you are getting. 2) it is a lot cheaper to run a website and fill orders by mail than to have people in a mall demonstrating products 3) some people want what they buy right away, they don't want to go home and search for it and order it and wait for x days to get it and not know what it is they are getting.

Maybe if you could provide them a card with recommend starter kit and web link, they might appreciate it. But I don't imagine that would really be fair to be poaching potential customers from a business that is on the ground, paying rent and employees. Especially since the level of repeat business is probably pretty low because once people become familiar with vaping, they will go on line - and if they don't? Why do you care if they are that stupid?

while i see the whole "overhead" thing I'm not one to try and badmouth infront of a crowd just when someone who sees me vaping and has no clue about it stops me and tries to sell me somthing that i told them is of lesser value to me. thats where i'm kinda at a loss. I know if i got a job at one of those as a teen or even before i started to vape i would look into it a bit be better informed so i wouldent get flustered if someone asked questions insted of saying "ya man its better than smoking you know its just vapor see" and thats all they know of it.

Keep in mind that I have been vaping for a few months at the time, but I fell victim to the "mall kiosk" when I was looking for some juice. That's all I wanted to buy, but somehow, I ended up with a eGo-c starter kit for $120, then another $50 for 3 30ml bottles of juice. I will admit it was a much better deal at the time because I was vaping the gas station "look a likes" which was $60 for the starter kit, then $15 for a 5 pack of replacement carts my wife and I were going through every 2 days. That added up really fast. My wife and I shared the eGo-c starter pack, which meant one battery, one charger for two batteries. That lasted 3 days, then she went back to the mall and bought the pink eGo-T mod, with the upgraded 18650 battery. I used both eGo 650mah batteries after that. Still use one as a backup, backup. I don't mind helping the "mall" guys out once in a while. I'll go up there and buy a cheap tank every now and again, because I seem to break lots of tanks. After all, they got me away from the gas station "look a likes".
