I'm looking at the computer with my daughter and all of a sudden I hear a Pop and then a chemical smell.

I look around to see what the heck is going on and nothing was stepped on. Then I check my vest pocket. The culprit was
a loose Panasonic CGR18650, a Itaste VV3 with a Iclear 30S attached, and possibly a Kanger T3 all loose in my pocket.

The Battery was super hot and the top popped off. The Itaste VV3 was very hot. The IClear 30S definitely shorted too, it looks like it popped off the ItasteVV3.

So any way all is well, the Itaste VV3 still works but the paint is kinda burned or stained from the battery. The Panasonic is trashed and the Iclear 30s clearo is trashed although maybe I can replace the atomizer.

Well I just learned the hard way what happens when a Panasonic is shorted. Pop goes the battery.

I think I'm not going to carry any loose batteries around anymore.

How does that happen? Loose batteries getting hot, I mean? I leave a couple of the shorties in a pocket of my purse, loose, is that bad?

If you have something else Metal in your Pocket like Keys, Coins, a PV, etc., and if the Battery makes contact with them, then it could Short the Battery.

Then All the Electrons try to Run the Loop. And the Magic Smoke comes out of the Battery.

Which causes the "Pop". Or in a Worse Cause Situation, Fire.

Do yourself a Favor and pick up a Battery Case. They are Dirt Cheap. Cheaper than a New Battery. And a Lot Cheaper than a New Purse.

I should have clarified, where I was thrown for a loupe was that the Inokin Itaste VV3 conducted the electricity. I had 4 other batteries in cases and thought I was safe with one loose because I never put my keys, change or anything metal in that pocket.

The Innokin is coated and I didn't think it was conductive. Guess I learned the hard way.
