Popping Coils

• OK, so I am not new here. I have a lot of know how through these forums and through experience. The problem is that I have "popped" 3 coils in the last 3 days. I have never done that with my 32 Kanthal (not sub ohms) Started building with 30 Kanthal (not Sub ohm) and cotton and blew 3 in 3 days. Could it be bad wire or something else? A real pain when out and about. Works well all day then suddenly 0 resistance on coil. Phoenix dripper at about 1.5ohms Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Maybe since the wire size is larger your shorting either to close to base/sides/posts that's only thing can think.

not shorting for sure. runs well all day, then "pops" a coil. Has happened twice while dry burning and once in normal use. Can't seem to get a grasp on this one.

BTW I use an ADV that really gunks coils, hence the reason for the dry burn every day.

The only time I have ever popped a coil is with a short. Maybe the atty has a loose connection or something internally happening that is causing the short. Do you have a different atty to try the same coil on?

Thinking my MOD is not working right and putting out too many amps once in a while? just a thought.

Using my dual coil Nimbus now and no probs so far.

I suppose it could be possible, but I think it would have to be a considerable jump for that to happen. What device / battery?

Vmax with stacked 350s

That could be it being stacked yes it's regulated by maybe it's sometimes not taking that into consideration and chucking out twice the voltage but then you'd expect the same to be happening on Nimbus.
