I may be hallucinating but I popped the back cap off one of my carts the other day and I'm getting a much more interesting vaping experience. With the cap on strong flavors drill into my tongue (and on menthol that's actually quite fun) but with the cap off it's much smoother.

I realize the point of having the cap in place but the way I draw a mouth full of juice hasn't been an issue.

Anyone else doing this or does anyone have a reason why not to?

However I see no difference - I`ve removed it and then I re-inserted it....
Now as I read this I tried again but still it makes no difference for me so I`ll insert it back in..

I agree, the hole in the outer piece is the same size as the hole in the inner piece. This means that the air flow should be the same.

Clearly vaping is a YMMV thing, it's a dramatic difference for me at least. A lot of it probably has to do with the way I inhale, I always pull directly on to the tip of my tongue and fill my mouth.

Now that I've done this with a dozen carts or so I'm also noticing condensation (or something) in the chamber which means no matter what else happens those caps are coming off when the carts need cleaning.

I too find pulling the cap off works better for me. I've heard people say it makes no difference. But for me it make enough of a difference to do it. It may only be a slight difference, but I believe, the more the direct vapor the better. No use having another barrier to inhibit the flow, if it's not needed.

OT:

OMG: Is that the Cisco Kid?????

"Hey Pancho!"
Hey Cisco!"

Back to the thread....The end on my 901 keeps popping off and I'm afraid I'm going to inhale one by accident. That said, I have not experience any significant difference with or without it.

I prefer to keep the outermost cap in place(just incase I overfill)...but I do remove the inside one on all my 510 cartridges.

Everyone has their own preference ,I guess.

And how did you manage to do that?
I thought the 510 carts are one piece and you cannot remove the inner cart...

thx for the tip! I just pulled my outer one off and you're right it's a less concentrated drag. ie: less lung power to pull. Going to try the inner cart and too.

There are several other mods you can do to the cart to improve drag resistance. I don't recommend removing the baffles. I personally like the extra protection from getting a mouthful of liquid. The center holes in the baffles can be enlarged or notches to the flat end of the carts are just 2 mods that can improve draw volume.

That is a very good practice. If you don't keep this clear you will get liquid leak out into whatever container you use to transport the carts in. Then you get it all over your hands when handling the carts.

This is not condensation, it is liquid getting past the atomizer. Not nice in mouth or on hands.

Kevin

PS: If you hear a gurgling sound, slow down your draw or put on a fresh battery. This is the sound of liquid moving past the atomizer.
