Wheelie machine! I had a 1971 H1 in an orange color. It ate chains and shifter forks for second and third gear. Handled well after Koni's, clip-ons and Avon tires were installed.

traded it in for a blue H2 750 that did not seem to like the curves as much.

What memories you have brought back!!

There was times when I wish I had the 750cc when we did long road trips. Much easier on the kidneys. You had to hold on for dear life when those Kawi's hit their power band.

Nuppin like a Nuppin'!

Hehehe, we ported and polished one of those kawi triple 2-strokes many years ago when I was in school for it. The guy did it all by hand with a Dremel and such. No low end but brutal from the midrange up. Hold on is right... Hard to hold down that front wheel. Power to weight ratio was like a bug strapped to a rocket.

I'm old now and my back is toast but man I really miss those days. :D

Old and I miss them, too! Both of my H's were ported, polished, had the pistons shaved/decked, reed valve manifolds with flat slide carbs and expansion chambers. Absolutely no power below three grand but hit four grand and it seemed like afterburners kicked in. True powerband, if I remember, was just over 5k to just over 7k.
