On the question of specific studies: For the time being, no scientific studies on ecigs have been published. However, clinical trials have been done or are known to be undertaken by several groups. This includes: (1.) The group around M. Laugesen (Health New Zealand), an outspoken proponent, studied various aspects on ecigs, results of the first clinical trial were presented at SRNT 2009 conference. (2.) A group closer to the US health establishment is presently running an extended clinical trial. Leading investigator is apparently T. Eissenberg (Virginia Commonwealth University), was featured in several news articles, not shy to the media. (3.) According to [post=200375]great posts of user redrose[/post] in this forum, there is also a group at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center which is actively investigating ecigs (but apparently prefers to stay away from the media). (4.) AMA just announced an intention to study ecigs, but nothing substantial yet.
