I have some serious Provorn for you guys - a 24k gold plated Provari. I'm not sure how many were made, but I believe it's in the single digits. :) My local B&M has it but she doesn't think she wants to ever sell it.

Ooof. What a vapemail day.
Long post warning...

1) Got, from the classies, my Hippo. Bought it real quick, then realized "oh, that's a V1". And saw pix making it look like it would look bad. It doesn't. I mean, there is a little bit of ProVari cap visible, but just an edge, and I think it's OK. But wait, how does this thing work? Took me a while to find any info on V1, but finally realized the middle part was STUCK. Soaked it, fixed it. Works!

2) Doorbell rang. Neighbor got the rest of my vapemail delivered to wrong address. A couple batteries, and LO!! My polished Russian!

3) So - here's my take on the Russian:
a) For me, still, on this my 3rd or 4th attempt at building, it remains a hassle. I understand people find it fun and rewarding, but for me, wrapping a simple coil involves at least one total failure and quite a lot of frustration.
b) I DID however achieve a simple, ugly 1.7 ohm coil.
c) I get the appeal of cotton, but I don't like the frequent rewicking so this thing has ekowool. I guess I got lucky, 'cause it is wicking.
d) GREAT airflow, and the adjustable thing actually adjusts.
e) Ring for flush look is a PITA. Surprisingly, the "Kayfun Cone" is a tad too tall. There's an adjustable 510 pin, but you have to pull it out TOO far. And another ring (Loki or Tatroe, I forget) was too short and rattled. Third one was OK, but it's brushed and looked funny. Urf.

It's pretty darned good. Not blow-me-away-I'm-selling-all-my-tanks-good, just good. I'm sure that's my build - that if I wrapped it better or got it wicking better, then I could achieve huge clouds or even better flavor. But that's too much effort for me to put in on a regular basis!

So...I'm gonna keep it, but I don't think it's replacing my carto-tanks. It's definitely not replacing my Dripper Pro, which I now use a lot when I'm home...

Awesome, honest review. Looks like I need to wait quite sometime before jumping into the Russian wagon, or at least until I even build one coil. LOL. But it looks super cool.

Honestly, I think I am unusual in finding coil-wrapping difficult.
PLUS - FYI, while I cannot explain it, I am NOT having nearly as much trouble with recoiling/wicking the little ceramic cup for my Dripper. I know you were thinking of those too - somehow that's easier for me (maybe cuz I'm using the ready-wires, and you're pretty limited in WHAT you can make, coil-wise, with those).

So basically - don't use ME as an excuse - you should try it!! :D :D :D :D

Where are you in CA? If you're anywhere near L.A. I can teach you! :)

Not 1 but 2 MicroSticks. When you try new gear out you try new gear out. No wonder there is a shortage of them. ;)

I have way too many devices (and just about everything else vape related), but the MicroStick, Reo and some other stuff is calling my name. I don't want even more stuff in the unused stack, so maybe I'll do a big list like you did to pass on some toppers and other gear, ProVari's, other mods, DIY, etc. :?:

Train - check this gizmo out for coil making. It looks like it couldn't be easier. I admit, I'm thinking about trying it. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/510520-coils-made-easy.html
