Hey guys, I'm hoping people with more experience can help me with this one.
My Ego battery broke and as it was my only battery, I needed something new. I went to a local tobacco store that sells PV stuff. I only have so much money since losing my job, so I bought a cheap mod. It's called a SWIG VV. It looks decent, but I feel like I made a mistake buying this. Can anyone give me an idea of if I got scammed?

Have you done any vaping on it yet? It seems to me that if it works and you're getting a satisfying vape that it's okay.

I've seen the SWIG in one of my local B&M's recently, have not had a chance to play with one yet, but given that you're in MI (go wings) and I am in NC they cannot be all that horrible given the spread. That said, I cannot speak to the quality of them, nor what you paid being worth the money. I think my local is selling them at about $60

I would suggest you save as best you can and get a model like the Vamo. They cost about $35 and use loose batteries that cost half as much as an "eGo" type battery and last twice as long lifetime and on a charge. You can get two good Efest 18350 batteries for $11.

This thing?

Looks like it may be a nice step up from Ego to a VV mod.
The only immediate downside I note is that it's using the skinnier 14500 batteries which limits what OTHER mods you can power with the same batteries... On the other hand, if it's this kit, with an ego-style charger, that's kinda handy.
Button color glow changes with low battery - that's handy.
Rotate head to change voltage - that's kinda nifty.
Jump to 9:05 to see what you have to look out for (510 connector popping right off the unit)!
Hopefully, yours is attached well, and hopefully, you'll be happy with it!

Look. It's got swappable batteries and is VV. You're just heating a coil. You only have to worry about it if you're doing ....out of the standard...stuff. Like dual coils and low ohms and such. Normal coils should be fine.

14500's only have about 500 to 900 mAh. So you may need at least 1 more battery so you can charge one and vape the other. I assume you use an external charger. If not, pick one of those up too when you get the $$$.

Vape the hell out of it and get your money's worth. In the future, when you have more time to research and decide, you can look at other options.

The "buyer's remorse" thing is a pain. Don't sweat it. If it's keeping you off the stinkies, it well worth it no matter what it is.

I ended up paying $68 because it did not come with a 14500 battery. And I have not had a chance to use it yet as I'm out and about without a charger.

If you haven't used it and you're not sure, will they take it back? Why don't you ask them?

I sort of agree with wv2vin--you could get a Vamo 3 from Fasttech for half the price--but you'd have to wait.

Also, just out of curiousity. I watched the PB video above.

I wonder if the top cap coming off IS the venting safety feature. ;) Not that I would do it that way. I'd rather see the bottom come off (away from the user).

After watching the vid...(the venting issue bothers me a lot)...see if they will refund or offer store credit.

If not, drill some vend holes in an appropriate location as added safety. The voltage thing bugs me a bit but you should be OK with 2.0 or 2.3/2.5 ohm stuff.
