I was charging my AW IMR 18490 3.7v 1100mAh LiMn battery. I noticed that it was still on after an hour or so and thought I heard a quiet hissing or whining noise coming from the charger. This is the charger that came with my Provari with the dual slots.
I touched the battery and it felt slightly oily. I unplugged the charger, and then removed the battery for inspection. Everything seemed normal and I did not detect any sign of a leak. My fingers did feel slightly slick where I was holding the battery. I immidatly put it down and checked for any liquid with a tissue. I didn't see anything noticeable.
By the way, this is the batterie's second charge cycle.
I also found it odd that when I put it back in, the red LED charging indicator had changed to green, and remained there until I unplugged it.
I am not sure if the electronics in the charger made that strange sound, or if it was a minor battery leak. Or, if some ejuice slicked up the battery somehow.
I washed my hands immidiatly, but noticed a slight brownish tint where I had touched the battery. The skin was slightly callused, but that's my guitar fret hand, so my fingers are normally callused to some degree.
Any ideas?? I have the battery in quarantine until I figure out more!
