I have a segelei 30w. Even when the device is off (with battery installed) it is putting out about 3.7V. My thought was it is defective until I checked my vamo v5 to see if it was doing the same thing. It is. It puts out 4V even when the button is not pressed. I'm not having any weird issues with the vamo, but the segelei does get warm and drains the battery when off. Any ideas?

The output of a non-pwm device will have filter/storage capacitors in it that provide a "ghost" voltage. Test using a low Z multimeter or discharge the caps with a resistor and test again.
I was wrong. The vamo is now doing the same thing. At first I had no device just a multimeter showing voltage. Now when I hook up my kayfun at 1.5ohms or my protank I can hear it fire the coil without pressing the button. This happens with my aw imr 18650 as well as any other batter(also tried an mnke 1850)
