Possible solution to vamo v5 beauty ring 'issue'

Hi, long time lurker first time poster so this is in the new section but hope it gets noticed.

After reading the thread about changing the top cap on the v5 with the one from the v2 I had an idea. It mentions screwing the battery extension tube onto the top cap to wiggle it out, this got me thinking....

Couldn't you just cut down a spare battery extension tube to the right length and sand the sharp edges and use that as the beauty ring. If it screws on I can't see why this wouldn't work and then it wouldn't be tapered!

Thoughts?

I saw a post where a guy did just that and it looked pretty nice. I don't remeber how he kept the cut straight though.

To keep the cut straight you would need some special equipment, a dremel for instance. If you're into DIY it's a very easy task.
