thanks so much....i may have to post a link if i find something i think is what you are showing...thanks again for everything

anyone else have a US supplier?

I havn't had much luck finding Nickel wire in the US for a reasonable price. I can say if you spend the money to order from the UK you will be set for wire for life. If you want Sterling Silver it is available all over the net

This Kanthal A-1 that Oddy suggested is really good. I'm using it myself lately, especially in coils with two wires twisted and dual coils.

The reason I wrote about NiChr wire is that it has less resistance than Kanthal of the same diameter, so you could make at least one more wrap with it at the same ohms. With more wraps and Darwin (and double wick) you can have more taste.
But, if it's difficult to find NiChr in the US, then you can certainly try Kanthal.

With what you were provided, I'd do 4-5 wraps around the wick (doubled at point of resistance). Don't trust what your multimeter registers your resistance as without check the meters resistance itself (touch 2 leads together). 2.5ohms is usually perfect for me at 6v, but I like a throatier hit. Get somewhere in the ballpark of 2.2-3.2ohms for use at 6v, that should be perfect depending on if you're going for greater vapor production, flavor, or throat hit.

Hi guys ... Me and my friends at the greek forum, have already tested almost all of the possible ways of wick inside the Ody ... We think that we can have better results with the "2" or "8" way but with a small detail ...
We are using double resistance wire (braided)... 0.15mm with 0.15mm or 0.20mm with 0.13mm ...Lately I am using double 0.15mm@1Ω for 3.7 vapping :)

Im using something a little different right now...

Im using 1 piece of wick, also debraided another and using half of it as extra, so basically 1.5 wicks, and another extra piece inside the coil. Two full wicks are too big for the slots in the ceramic and it gets choked out, but this works great. It makes flooding impossible. Im using small mode ody and the liquid control is fully opened, getting amazing flavor from this!

So two piece of R wire twisted together? Any more details on how well it works or maybe a pic? I would have thought in such a setup it would provide an uneven heating surface since the two wires would be shorting together in multiple places, but since you say you're using it I'm curious :)

So no wick?

I cant tell what happened between the first and second image

maybe a diagram?

i like this idea

how does it hit? Ohms?

In general i love the diagrams on the first post, but id love to see pictures of examples of each, and the differences between them.

Im no expert at this, and it seems there are so many different ways, with different pluses and minuses .im just tryin to find the best and easiest way so i can get back to vaping as best as i can!

thanks!

There's wick in there, jager, it's just a blurry pic ;-) The first pic is just a length of wire where two have been twisted together, the others are the fully wound and assembled coil

Wow, long coil, I bet that was a pain to wind so that it fit. I may have to give that a try one of these days

Killjoy1 figured it right (despite the blurry photo):)
Of course there's wick - it's no 8 from the first post, if the diagrams are helpful to you.

The coil is rather long because, although the two R wires are twisted together, this is like a dual coil. For example for a 1.5ohms resistance like this you need two R wires (of the same diameter) of 3.0ohms each, or if you use different types you will need a multimeter.

In this setup the 0.20 wire gives the taste and the 0.13 the quick fire-up and the hit.
The only minus is that it won't last more than 3-4 days before the gunk cover it and the taste start to fade.
