Nope, it's not SWITCHED that needs to invest in knee pads...

Now, I just KNOW I'm about to start up SOMETHING, but I just don't understand why someone would post a 'controversial' photo like that..if you think it's SPORTING to go and shoot at animals, that's your decision, but, there's a lot MORE people that just don't want to see it.

I know it happens, I don't have a problem with it if that's the only way you can eat, but other than that? Keep it to yourself.

I REALLY didn't need to see that. It's SAD. So are hunters. I say, give the animals the GUNS or, at the very least, take them on without one of your own, I'd just LOVE to see who'd win THAT one...

Just out of curiousity, because I'm female, but DO your 'man parts' GET any bigger when you shoot something that was just minding it's business? :nah:

MUCH better picture BradSmith..thank you!! :)

I am sorry that I offended you. I forget that some people don't understand the joy of hunting. I tried to take the picture down by using the edit button but it didn't work. If there is a mod around please help out and remove the post.

I have hunted my entire life and I would suggest that if you are not a vegan that you really shouldn't judge me or my way of life. I use every bit of each and every animal that I harvest. I don't hunt for sport but to feed my family. I find it much more cruel to cage an animal for the purpose of later killing it than to hunt. Do you own anything made of leather? If so I would suggest that you are being more than a little hypocritical. Do you eat fish or have a burger once in a while?

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't much care for being judged by people who know nothing about me. I have also found that true hunters care more about the land and the animals than any city person who lives in an environmentaly destroyed area. If you care so much about the planet why do you drive the cars that you do? I lead a very simple life and I can 100% gaurantee that my impact on the earth is much less than yours.

Thank you for pointing out that the picture was offensive. You are right, I should not have posted it. However, I did not mean to offend anyone. I simply forgot that people have become so isolated from nature that they don't realize what it means to be a part of nature.

Brad, could also be that this is the Canadian sub-forum.

What the rest of ECF doesn't know about us and our culture could fill the grand canyon.

I have a couple of really good friends who live over in Canada (I'm actually North of you) however, I don't pretend to really understand much about Canada. I was very close to moving to BC at one time It's an amazing city. Don't get me wrong I love Toronto too, on a scale of one to ten I would give it a ten anyday over Detroit. I am mixed (although I don't look like it) and my kids are very mixed and the nicest thing about Toronto is that I never get those looks when walking around with my wife and kids like I do around here.

I used to travel through Canada every week. I was playing gigs at the Blind Mellon in Buffalo with Chunk Pipe. By the way I hate Canadian customs, if have to show them my brown eye one more time I'm going to take the long way around.

What did you think of the Tacoma DR55?? It has the built in LR Baggs and I usually have a lute hole cover on it. It's the best feedback buster ever made. Oh and my favorite guitar line of all time is Seagull.

I want to make VERY sure this doesn't come out wrong BS..I can NOT understand the JOY of hunting, you're right. I see NO reason to kill animals for SPORT. From the sound of things, you hunt 'responsibly', if there IS such a thing. At least you eat what you shoot. I can tip my hat to you on that one, I suppose.

YOU didn't offend me, the picture did. I understand that people hunt. I just don't expect to see someone showing off with a dead animal on an ecig forum. That's it.

As BA mentioned, the Canadian culture IS quite different from the States. HOWEVER, I grew up in SCOTLAND. I had NEVER met a SOUL that hunted for sport before moving to North America and, I must say, I was horrified with the 'trophies' strung on the front of peoples CARS when driving through Virginia and North Carolina. To ME, that's just DISGUSTING.

As for whether or not I'm a vegan, I'm not. I don't have a problem with people using animals for FOOD. As I said earlier, at least you do it responsibly, but I can't IMAGINE anyone finding JOY in it.

My opinion, that's all. :)

P.S. BTW, your brown eye reference confused me at first, but..good one!

No our man parts do not increase in size when we harvest an animal. I doubt that I will convince you of anything, and that is OK as well.

There are them guys, and then there are guys like Brad an I. Have you noticed how carefully we chose are words? No, we do not carefully choose our words, those are the words a true conservationist use on a daily basis.

I do not hunt for sport nor trophies, I harvest game for table fare. I do not take a life for sport, never have and never will. I respect animals too much for that.

I no longer have a picture of what happens to animals that are too weak to survive winter because we as humans have continued to reduce their individual homelands. It is not a pretty site and much more graphic that the picture Brad posted.

But hey, the antis reply to this is - it is mother nature. So please get off your soap box because responsible individuals like Brad and I have heard it all before.

In closing I can guarantee you that what we do although seemingly barbaric is far more humane than mother nature or a slaughter houses for that matter.

I cannt say I agree with that, I personal didnt have a problem with the picture, and I am Canadian. Actually the only one that voiced an objection is from my understanding from Scotland and not Canada. If there was an error here it was in slipping that type of picture into an existing thread instead of posting it into a new thread with a proper heading.

Like I said Switched, if you USE it, then fine. If you hunt for SPORT, you're an a$$hole.

My opinion..on a cracker.

You've got it partially right LV, yes, I'm from Scotland, ORIGINALLY. I've been here for a LONG time. I, PERSONALLY, didn't need to see that. This is a Forum dedicated to electronic cigarettes and their members. Swiched started a GREAT thread so we can get a little glimpse of the people we 'speak to' everyday.

I voiced my opinion about hunters that hunt for SPORT. Some people will agree with me, others will not.

I'm still PERFECTLY cool with both Switched and BradSmith. I'm also taking this opportunity to inform Switch that I'll be at his door some time in the future, I'd like to see Nova Scotia. He HAS to put us up, for free. Neither one of us drinks, so he's safe there, but the hubby DOES like to be sung to when he's falling asleep. This, of course, will be Switched's responsibilty, as they'll be sharing a bed.

Thanks Switched! We'll drop a line when we're about 5 mins out, 'kay?

'KAY!!!

LOL you are right. I thought we were going to have to visit the closet on this one ;)

I see, understand your point of view and support it. Some folks point of view on the sunject could be compared to the FDA's position wrt e cigs. :)

My 2 cents on a cracker.

Got our room ready yet Switched? Huh? Didja? :w00t:

ummmmm, I think a certain red head might have something to say about that. She likes to snuggle her bear, ya no. After all he is cute and cuddly depending which phase the moon is in ;)

Singing to hubby to get him to sleep might cause some long term permanent damage as I sing out of key. Are you sure you really want that? or would you like some time and re-visit your position wrt the observation/request?

I wuv U2
