Hi

I've written several emails to my MEPs (Members of European Parliament) about the proposed EU TPD amendment. One of them has mass-replied about the issue to a whole lot of people who've contacted him about this. The result is that I'm seeing a lot of emails from those other people to the MEP, because they're using "Reply All".

Now I think this is a good thing - I'm getting a lot out of seeing what other people are writing. Sometimes someone else makes a point I'd forgotten, or puts something in a clearer way than I managed. But others in the email list might not want to be swamped with emails like this.

I thought of posting my emails and the replies I get here on the forum (actually, I'd put them here: EU Legislation - would that be the right place), so that others can read them and comment on them if they like. Naturally I'd only post my own emails, and the replies I get from my representatives - but I'd invite others to also post theirs if they'd like to.

What I was wondering about, though, is the etiquette/ethics of posting the replies I get from my representative. I could easily anonymise the name if that makes any difference. Is there a presumption that correspondence between a representative and a constituent of this kind is public-domain (barring any specific request for confidentiality)? The last thing I want to do is offend a representative by treating their correspondence with a lack of respect.
