Powder vs Crystals

I recently bought Ethyl Maltol powder to mix my own EM sweetner, but quick question -- after mixing (and heating and several days of steeping) - i see the little powder dots all through the pg. If I were to buy crystals instead of the powder, would it be more clear???
Thanks for any help! It just looks so "mucky" - tastes great still though! (Yes i sneak a drop on my finger with every use, Im a sweet junkie, lol). I know overall it probably is the same thing - but Im the perfectionist type, and this mix is driving me a little crazy.

Thank you sdh for your links and help =). Ive been mixing for awhile, just the first time ive used the powders so I was curious why they werent mixing the same or if I did something wrong =(.
