I use 0.6 ribbon Kanthal 3/2 on my DID which meters out at about 0.8Ω. You probably don't want to use a shortstop on a mech device running very low ohm coils because if you draw over 5 amps it will trip. Just use good IMR batteries and common sense. Personally, I like a coil around 0.8Ω because at 1.0Ω I find the vape gets weak when my battery is down to 3.7volts. By going to a 0.8Ω coil, it vape stays good down to about 3.4v. Just change batteries often and enjoy! When I did use 28awg wire, I did a 3/2 wrap to get me to where I needed to be.
