Epic Journey
Btw clyde, I reeeeeally like your write-up!

Like you, I've never really understood why people try to compare Precise and GGTS. They are as similar as a high-end compact sports car and a luxury SUV. One is all about maximum performance with minimum maintenance in a smallest package possible implemented through smooth classy and simple look. The other is about offering very nice "luxury" features in a flashier package even if at the expense of size and weight and higher maintenace. It seems pretty obvious that both mods are made by makers who share quite different philosophies and visions for their art. One thing they have in common is that they both love their work and take tremendous pride in their creations and they care deeply for their customers, whether fanboys or not.

IMO, it is perfectly OK to love one mod more than the other simply based on personal style and preference. And there is certainly nothing wrong with having a different kind of love for both since they are simply in different categories.

Great write up Clyde. Glad you finally got your hands on the Precise. Sold most of my 'other' stuff once I got the original over a year ago. With the Vape Mate used as a nice little pocket hanger keeping the device from reaching the bottom of my pocket I make sure the battery is fully charged and the 5ml bottle is full and I'm good for a full 10 hour day at work.

The Plus model solved the brass contact corrosion maintenance issue. Hits harder and never needs resurfacing. I love not needing to fiddle around so much.

Flat caps work fine with tanks too and look more like a single device

hey aziffel,
wasnt sure you if you knew or if its just your preference but the caps on your depth charge tank are upside down. the cap with the larger lip is for the top.

Yeah, but if you look again you'll see that is a Big daddy vapor cap on the bottom.I had two depth charge tanks,1 cartomator and 1 big daddy.I took the caps from the cartomator and big daddy and use them as bottoms(their flat) and use the depth charge caps as tops
so the top has a more tapered look and the tank sits on my provari or precise with just enough gap to get airflow. The cartomator bottom and depth charge top is as close as I can get to looking like a one piece device without a machine shop

nice combos! a switcharoo of the o-rings and im fooled. haha. i sold most of my tanks and have been dreaming about a cartomator in brush like stwpr..
i still dislike cartos with a passion so im hoping i find a better way to make this io6 tank. so far it works but still a little leaky for me. works great in performance just leaks a little when set down. wish i owned a cnc machine, i have a perfect plan i think would work.

I love my all SS big daddy tank on the precise + 18650. Dual coil cartomizer is great. Boge 2.0 is also win....as well. Also a 1.7 smoketech is awesome...but I couldn't get it to work in a tank...

No need to apologize for having a personal preference! After having more polished steel tubes, the more industrial design was almost a bit of a letdown when first getting the mod. But it's really grown on me, and I really like not having to worry about fingerprints, smudges, minor scratches and the like.

Nonetheless, some prefer the more polished design of the original Precise. But I think David has plans to eventually offer an upgrade to get the original's switch and end caps in rhodium, so good luck in getting anyone to turn loose of theirs! The only chance you may have is someone who's a bit tight on cash selling their original after getting their hands on the new model once he releases a few more of them.

What's probably the finest compliment to the Precise line is how infrequently they're on the classifieds, and how quickly they generally sell if one is posted.

Really nice review! I was sold on the SuperT lineup from the first moment I saw them over a year and a half ago. The original Super Six was revolutionary with its angled triple vent holes, adjustable draw and awesome machining! The Precise Plus is the latest evolution of the Six model (sort of) and the Precise line. I'm planning on purchasing one as soon as I have the $$$ to blow.

This thread has been a bit quiet lately. I haven't grown tired of the mod, quite the opposite. But due to a minor mishap that was my fault, I've been without it for a bit.

Something about the precise, maybe because it's so precisely* round and light, makes it want to roll when it's not on a perfectly level surface. I have a little habit of disassembling it, lying it on my tiled kitchen counter and putting the battery on the charger in the next room. I've grown accustomed to hearing it roll and catching a groove between tiles as I'm moving from room to room.

Last week, I heard the familiar rolling....and a 'plink'! Turns out the main body missed the groove and fell on the hard kitchen floor. The flange that the atty or top piece screws into got bent in a bit, and the unit wouldn't assemble.

Mailed it in to super t's dave (would that make him Super Dave?) and offered to pay for the repair and/or replacement parts. Dave, being a super guy, decided the damage was so light that he'd cover it under the Precise's lifetime rehabbing warranty (though it was clearly an accident or misuse, and he didn't have to).

Hopefully, it will be on it's way back soon. Not happy about my mishap (I'll have to take better care of it while it's disassembled), but it is nice to know of Dave's commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

Really looking forward to getting it back ASAP (and wondering if Monday's postal holiday is going to affect delivery-groan). I've grown really attached to this outstanding little mod in a short amount of time.

*Yeah, I know....there I go again!

Gotta admit, I was able to snag a regular 18650 plus during forced fuel's last limited sale. Even though I did quickly get the original limited edition one back, I'm glad I did. The things are so small, I can easily carry two of them inside of a suit or coat pocket and not feel burdened. And I can try the kick on one and regular 3.7 vaping on the other without having to swap out batteries and et cetera.

The Plus really works well with adapters. Any problem I've had with a combination was either the result of a hinkey atomizer/cartomizer or a bad adapter, not the mod itself. Been trying all sorts of stuff out of the vaping drawer with the Precise, attys, map tanks, etc., but my favorites have been a couple of recent additions: the Ego Mega Dual Coil (black) Cartomizer, and the 1.7 ohm 801 carto, both from madvapes. Nice vapor production, minimal filling, and more time spent vaping than dripping or wiping.

Another great addition is a variation of the dct map tank mod made by our own BillBOKC. Softer plastic end pieces, but Bill puts in a fill hole and rubber grommet on the side of the acrylic tank, making filling a non-issue.

Ah, life is good.
