I hear yah, yeah for me it's also a "by accident" kinda thing too, but for me and my use the derringer is an accident waiting to happen, it accidentally popped off several times in my one day using it... I almost lost the lil afc ring the first day when it popped apart and went flying :)

I'm sure I'm more the exception than the rule though. I also don't like my reo doors because they're too loose but I tighten them up so there much tighter now, I like my stuff really tight I guess :)

to me the astron is the best 22mm atty I ever vaped, yet no one seems to have ever even heard of it :) it similar to, but edges out the quazar by having a slightly more reduced chamber. just looking at them they look like many other similar atties I guess but in your hand you can really see the diference, love the top cap and afc setup and the build deck, awesome atty

I've been watching and reading for days on the issues peeps have been having with the D's with loose caps and spinning pins. I bought a v1 from Tom on Catfish, not that I can't bf it myself, he just had stock so meh, for the extra couple bucks...he got the gold plated copper pin model and was swapping out the pins with his SS pins. I'm all about conductivity so I just had him drill the stock pin, I didn't want his SS pin. I can't comment on whether that makes a difference or not, Tom knows his stuff, I'm sure his pins are bang on stock circumference but I'm not getting any pin movement (and I wrench on it pretty good)...but I do have a loose cap, which I fixed with my nitrile glove finger method.

What I really wanted to mention is since buying an authentic and really liking the performance I decided to try a clone and save a couple bucks...the only difference I can tell is that the AFC air holes aren't drilled on an angle like the original. Seeing as I my computational fluid dynamics is a little rusty I decided to let that go...but the cap is nice and snug as it should be (and the pins were almost a PITA to get out for bf'ing)...so I bought another off ebay, same thing...I now have 1 $70 loose/wobbly cap authentic and 5 $16 clones that simply work as they should.

Say what you want about clones I guess...just saying

Turbo bro, just so you know (rhyming up a storm--whoa), the dready doors are very tight, at least the one's I've got.The patina one especially (brown on the black reo) - snug as it can be.

Hey Quigs, Turbo brings up a great point about dropping/accidents and the cap flying off. Just wondering, what's your nitrile glove method / how does it compare to the dental floss trick?

It would be sweet if we could find o-rings that fit snug and perfect. Hmm...

CH is getting the correct custom o rings from praxis to fix said problem.

Nothing against the waxed dental floss, it's cheap and easy and 4 out of 5 dentists say you should have some in your home :D but I had one of those black nitrile gloves laying around so I cut the little finger off with some scissors, I then cut some very thin rubber bands (you need to cut 5 to get 1 good one) and snapped it in the o ring groove (make sure it's not twisted) then put the o ring back on, on top of it...it's almost perfect for snugging up a cap.

Oh really??? That's awesome. Thank you for posting bro :)

I believe he said he was going to ship them to each person who bought said atty, I have mine, which I can pick up from the top cap and it doesn't budge. Also my post doesn't spin. Knock on wood. Still waiting to hear back from rob as I broke my reo and sent it to him. Its going to be coming bsck with a brother though. Then j can sell off my other non reo boxes

Tom has confirmed this again - he is receiving custom o-rings from Praxis soon to fix the problem and will be shipping them to anyone who bought the v1.2 off him.

a) way to go Praxis...
b) way to go Tom :)

jeffrey the post doesn't spin on me either unles I wrench it down hard, so it only happened once. It just bugs me that it's technically loose enough to spin with wrenching. I'm still used to wrenching because of the Odin which is as bullet proof as Russ says, and man did I wrench those screws :) truth be told grubs hold better, no need to wrench. Lesson learned, spinning hopefully a thing of the past...

I got a clone from FT (SKU 2106600) with the SS positive post. The tolerances are spot on for the drip tip, the AFC and the barrel. I haven't experienced any leaking yet. Lots of machine oil, in fact I've washed it thoroughly tree times and it still tastes of it. The air flow is great and I found it easy to build on. I went for a single coil as I wanted to use it on a small mech on the go. Less heat, longer battery life, less juice consumption.

I put in a single 24G 7 wraps @2mm ID coil ~ 0.6 ohms.

- The vape is quite hot, but thats to be expected for such a small form factor.
- The flavor is OK. The afore mentioned oil is probably partly to blame.
- Produces a fair about of vapor, but the density could be better.

I will do another build copied from my Tugboat next. Dual 26G 12 wraps 2mm ID ~ 0.6ohm. Which to me is the best vape I've ever had so fingers crossed.
