I'm researching getting my wife an e-cig "kit". She smokes 3-5 cigs a day. She wants something that is VERY simple and reliable. Based on research it seems like the Joye 510 with the larger battery (the EGo?) would be fairly reliable and that the battery should last all day (I'll buy a spare). I would like to get 20-25 pre-filled carts along with her starter kit. I read where the Red Oak liquid (and a couple of others) have no or very few chemicals in them. Does anyone know of a supplier in the US who sells pre-filled carts with minimal or no chemicals?

I was going to order the Ego starter kit from Cignot. However the carts they sold were filled with "Marlboro High" (whatever that is).

I welcome any suggestions.

Thanks!

Pull the juice soaked fill out of the prefilled cart. Rinse. Squeeze all water out. Let air dry over night. Put fill back in your carts that you also rinsed and you have a blank cart with no liquid chemicals.

Put the juice from any vendor you'd like in your blank carts.

The prefilled carts come with a juice that includes nicotine, PG, and flavoring. Your purchased juice will contain much the same except you can get VG instead of PG or a mix of PG & VG.

From the few cigs your wife smokes, I'd suggest getting juice in the 6-12 mg range. Maybe up to 18mg...

Getting prefilled carts shouldn't stop you in the least.

I'd also recommend trying a number of different flavors. I'll leave the vendor suggestions to others.

All juices contain the same amount of chemcials - well honestly everything we eat and drink contains 'chemicals' - chemical doesn't equal bad - its just a word that describes 'contents' on a more scientific level, it means 'material produced by or used in a reaction involving changes in atoms or molecules'. Sounds like cooking lol.
Some juices have 'natural flavoring' some have 'artificial' flavoring but all are used in, or can be used in, cooking (ah see I knew there was a reason I used that as an example); so I wouldn't worry too much about 'good' and 'bad' chemicals in ejuices. We know there are a lot LESS than the chemicals they put in cigs (no arsenic for one thing); so you really need to find her something that tastes good.
That's going to be your biggest challenge as tastes vary so much, and even the same flavor may tatse different made by different companies.
The pre-filled carts that come with the Ego (or the basic 510 kit) are 'ok'; they aren't 'great'. Marlb High is around 24-26mg (I'm pretty sure its that, and this may be too high for her as she smokes so little) and its supposed to be a 'marlborough-like cig taste'. I don't think it IS because its a little sweet, but its not hideous. I didn't mind it, though I preferred their cappucino carts. If you're looking ot buy a bit of jucie at the same place to save on shipping then get something from the BASIC range - they are mostly fruit flavors but I really like them. You can get them in 12mg nic strength which MAY suit her better. They DO use 'natural flavorings' in those ones (if you can taste the difference, a lot of people really can't tell natural from artificial).
Most 'tobacco' flavor juices don't taste like cigarettes. Actually only cigarettes taste like cigarettes, but she's wanting to be OFF those right? I found that its much more the hand/mouth/relaxing part of smoking that had the 'habit' for me, rather than the nic itself. As she is such a casual smoker she may also find this.

Remember, even the simplest PV has a learning curve; you take longer slower drags on it than a cigarette. Once you get into the right way of using it though its a lifesaver (literally).
Good luck! Hope I didn't confuse you too much :)

I WAS going to suggest going to Tasty Vapor for your liquids. BUT, looking at how little your wife CURRENTLY smokes, you may not want to get her a flavor that's SO good, she'll be vaping like a champ. Hard call...

As for the kit, I'd suggest either the Ego or a 510. You DO get 2 batteries with either kit. It boils down to expense. She doesn't seem like she'd use it a lot, and keep in mind that the Ego will run anywhere from 6-10 hours. But, both units are 3 pieces. A little more fiddling perhaps, but, IMHO, the flavors are MUCH better and, personally, I like to be able to see what I'm doing. Something you can't do with cartomizers.

As for a juice vendor that sticks a little closer to 'no chemicals' (although, that's hard to type, without the CHEMICALS, you're not going to get any vapor or throat hit. Keep that in mind), you could try wordupecig.com..for certain flavors, they use all natural, kosher ingredients. Their customer service is next to none and they're ALWAYS willing to talk to customers and guide you through!

Good luck!!

Thanks for the input. Let me refine my question about the juice. Some of the juice probably comes from countries where there are no Quality Assurance at all. Please no offense to anyone.

I guess I'm looking for a US supplier (I live in the US & it would simplify shipping issues) that had some record for producing "quality" juice. Quality could mean things such as the nicotine strength is correct, that there aren't any external contaminants (WD40?) in the juice, etc.

I could show my wife how to fill the carts but I would greatly prefer buying them already filled. I know that Red Oak will be providing their juice in carts for resale by Blu-Cig (not sure if this is the exact name). However, based on what I read the Blu-Cig folks have some delivery issues.

Anyway if I could find a good supplier of pre-filled carts I think I can locate a good start kit to purchase & I don't mind paying 2 shipping charges.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah I was talking mostly about US made juices lol - I personally don't buy from abroad myself but even the US suppliers use a lot of dekang base liquids.
Almost all the 'approved suppliers' in the forum section are US based (some are canadian and some UK because the forum also covers those countries, I think only 2 are Chinese at this time).

90% of the Chinese liquid that you find for sale with US suppliers is made by Dekang/Boge. It is made to very strict safety specifications. You can see pictures of the factory here
New produts,E liquid,Electronic Cigarette?s Accessory- Shenzhen Boge Technology Co.,Ltd.

They have the following Certificates:
GMP Codex Alimentarius ( Good Manufacturing Practice)
General Principles of Food Hygiene CAC/RCP-1-1969,Rew.4(2003)
KFDA South Korea FDA
German Food and Feed Code (Lebensmittel - Bedarfsgegenstande-und Futtermittelgesetzbuch (LFGB))
ISO9001:2008
ISO13485:2003
Canada CAMDCAS
European MSDS Certification
European CE Certification
RoHS Certification
Yunnan toxicology clinical studies

Many of the US suppliers are ok, have good liquid flavors and seem to have good business practices. Be aware that they generally are home based businesses so you should be aware they aren't making it in a clean room like facility such as Dekang. I have ordered from several of the US suppliers, and have no issues at all nor have I seen any reports to cause concern.

I can recommend TastyVapor for sure. Good service, product and prices and seems to have some strict standards for his handling, mixing and business practices.

If you aren't sure after viewing a website, send emails to suppliers to ask questions or search for the vendor's name on the forum.

Prefilled cartridges are a mistake. They start to dry out quickly, and a burned vapor will develop. You really need to purchase liquid.

If you don't think she'll want to learn to put a few drops on a cartridge and on an atomizer bridge, perhaps you'll want to purchase cartomizers (KR808-D). Expensive, but then she will just throw them out when the vapor drops off and won't have to bother with liquid. Flavors (IMHO) are terrible in prefilled cartomizers.

The 510/Ego and some liquid is a good way to go to start off.
