Ladies and gents,

I have posted in the original thread that there will be no pre-orders on the entire "Bullet" line. I appreciate the enthusiasm of all with regards to the announcement.

Many folks have awaited with baited breath the "Switcher" going into production. I am not sure why, but I do appreciate the vote of confidence. If this vote of confidence was due to my tenure on ECF, then I humbly embrace the accolade. However, the folks that truly know me, know that I would not do a pre-order.

I am a retired serviceman who spent 32.5 yrs serving his country. I am retired and I am looking for something constructive to do in my twilight years. I have a talent besides having a firm grasp of Engineering fundamentals and principles, I was a former machinist, therefore I have found use for some old skills.

I was privileged in a lot of exchanges over the last year which permitted me to free myself of the evil clutches of tobacco and it's deadly addiction. During that time I surfed the forums and ECF in particular and found a niche that was both constructive and allowed me to celebrate in smokeabriety my first vaping anniversary on the 8th. During this year I had my finger on the pulse and my answer to the voice was the bullet line.

I am giving back to the community. During that time frame I went through several vendors, I have dealt with several vendors. I have seen how folks operate, and in all honesty, I wouldn't be Switched if I operated against the foundations of my principles or those I have aligned myself with. This is not a slam about the way other folks chose to do business, it is just the way I do business. You see I still believe in the mom and pop operation over corporate greed. Call me naive, that is fine. It is the way I chose to live my life.

I do not do pre-orders for several reasons: the main one, I do not believe customers should pay for R & D. My entire venture is self funded; I do not want you to pay me and wait for a product. I do not want a waiting list and then fulfill a product. I will fund, manufacture and then I will release the product, under the deadlines I have imposed on myself, not imposed by some long waiting list that may lead to hasty production and assembly, not to mention perhaps a sub-quality product.

JR's Custom Turnings is a one man operation and will always be a one man operation. To involve a third party means added cost. I have two choices: I either swallow them; or past them on to the customer. Since the main focus of my product is quality and functionality, afford-ability then goes out the window. Sorry folks you cannot have your cake and eat it too. That is why there are other PVs out there.

Why the "bullet"? Well as you know I do not believe in any proprietary accouterments what so ever, with exceptions. This entire line with the exception of the 7mm mag is built around the IKV atomizer. Why? It fits in nicely with my specs for the line, not to mention performance when coupled with the appropriate battery. Combustion air is pre-heated prior to vaporisation which assist in a "smoke" like experience. Folks that own the eGo know this. Well, at least the purist do.

The price-point for an individual PV in both the 308 and 7mm will come in below $70. Considering they are limited edition, one of a kind as they are not mass produced, that is extremely affordable. The other two calibres will come in under $85. For folks that still have questions: 72 operations are involved in manufacturing 7 parts. Each one will be fine tuned ans tested before it leaves the "bear cave", to ensure you get what you are paying for.

Now, if there is no more questions, I have work to do  I will answer all queries but please do remember while I am discussing customer queries here, production is idle. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Switcher,

As Isaac stated in another thread, the price is surreal considering what goes into them not to mention the functionality of the beast. The 308 comes in around 80gr, the lightest PV I ever vaped. The device was primarily intended for the Canadian market with a much needed mod. A smaller market, I am sure that folks who are interested will be able to purchase them at Happy Vaper, should Isaac run out

I will serve no wine before its time :)

"In closing, the anticipated release of the 308 has been moved to the right by 2-4 weeks. Isaac received and tested the 1st proto. We discovered some much needed tweaking and our findings will be addressed. I had tested the unit prior to it being sent out, however I did not put it through its paces so to speak. Therefore I informed Isaac not to ship it off to Jack as I was not happy with the outcome, although the issues were minor, I simply was not satisfied. What can I say. I am fussy. "

Proto1 was delivered for approval of concept nothing else. The newsletter announcement was a little pre-mature. Not Isaac's fault. There was more info in the newsletter than was anticipated, again everyone is hyped about this for good reason. Once again not Isaac's fault.

I debated on starting the thread, but again the cat was out of the bag. Hence the title of the thread.

Issues on the future of the line were discussed on Sunday, where the new "longer" mini did not have the same opening or top diameter of the old mini. Back to the drawing board.

OTOH the entire bullet line is designed entirely around the IKV atty line. Why? Because they simply perform better than anything out there. Isaac's atty coupled with the recommended battery provides a certain functionality yet to be experienced in the "mod" world.

I do not believe in "proprietary PVs" <--- it removes flexibility from the vaper. OTOH I cannot move away from the combination this particular line has to offer, outside of affordability because it vapes like no other PV. I know you saw videos claiming the same thing... I don't do videos. But I have listened to the birdie... The bulet line nearly got shelved on Sunday, because of a slight glitch. The atty! The IKV atty line is essential to this PV, to enjoy the full benefits and Nirvana this PV has to offer.

I chose my vendors very carefully. I ensured that the elements for this PVs performance were "off the shelf" components. I kept it simple so it is both user friendly and serviceable. I have strict criteria for the folks who truly know me. When I say I will not serve no wine before its time, then that is what I mean. OTOH what it means to the avg individual, is by the time it is released or pictures are released it will be ready.

That being said the prototype although was a fully functional PV which performed flawlessly (Issac's words) It was not a finished unit. I am sorry I will not release pictures intended for proof of concept as advertisement. Once again, folks do not know me very well. However, by week's end I should have a pic of proto2 that may be suitable for release on ECF. If it is, I will post them, if not I will take more pics LOL.

I know folks are hyped, and I appreciate all your enthusiasm and embrace it. It drives me even further in producing this PV and have it on the shelves tomorrow. That is not realistic.

But, what will be released is something that is ready straight out of the box :) I will serve no wine before its time. I simply do not do business like other vendors sorry :(

They will soon be seeing the shelves at IkenVape. The release has been a long time coming and we are finally in the home stretch. As I stated I will serve no wine before it's time, and yes I am true to my word. They should have been released by now (the 308), unfortunately there was an aspect I was not pleased with and called for a complete rebuild of the body and top connector = further delays. What does this mean? In the long run release dates between calibres will be greatly reduced. I could have released the 308 early last month but the product required some tweaking as I was not 100% satisfied, and until I am satisfied, nothing leaves JR Custom Turnings :) We are close folks, we are very close :)

The good news in some aspects, due to demographics the Calibre series will not be sold in Canada, but at IkenVape exclusively. Canadian members will still be able to acquire my creations through IkenVape. Total units = 51 (50 +1 (for the commemorative set) and serial numbered accordingly. US 2 to 51.

The bad news is, I truly wanted to offer Canadians a mod in Canada from a Canadian manufacturer :( Should marketing conditions change in the future, I will explore that venue again, just not with the calibre series.

Way to go Switched! That's great news!

Oh no... I know you were excited about serving your country so to speak. Makes me sad that your plans along those lines haven't quite worked out yet. Can you say more about what went awry, just curious?
