Pre-Vet Thread 2013!!

Hi Wolfe and all!!! not sure when the system "turns" us because I am still in the pre-vet status and cannot view the veterans thread yet. But I am going to be very patient 'cause it is well worth waiting for.
Also congratulations to all the other "Vets" turning this month!!!

Here's how we think it worked in the past:
When you joined, you joined on 1-18-2012 at HH:MM:SS time of day. Now, we know the date because it shows in your profile. We don't know the time because it doesn't show. (You may still have the e-mail from signing up that would give you an approximate time from it's time stamp).
We used to have a moderator look it up.
Then it gets a little harder to explain. To figure it out, you have to take a few things into account:
1) The ECF forum software runs a process at :25 past the hour, every hour looking for people that have had activity and are over 74 posts and that have 365 full days.
2) It turns you to veteran automatically if you meet the criteria.
So if you joined at, say, 8:28 pm your time, when it is 8:25 pm your time and the process runs, it won't change you because you need a full day. So it will change you to vet on 9:25 (the next run after you meet the criteria).
3) It was a leap year last year. That means that anyone that joined before Feb 29, gets turned a day early (remember 365...NOT 366 days).
Also agreeing on the time is tricky since you have to take time zones into account. lol.
So dragonvap will turn sometime today...but we don't know when because we don't know the time.

and since j0ker's dad was hospitalized last night i would not expect an answer to the pm, wolfe ...........
he got the call last night during the texas hold'em game - no updates on his dad since then which is very worrisome .........

I am going to try and get Times for your turnings (Eastern) and looked up by an ECF Moderator.
Dates are checked by at least two people but, when dealing with different time zones and the forum software not recognizing leap year, mistakes can happen.
In the mean time, come in grab a coffee hunny bunny and many others spend a lot of time to make some cookies and pies and other great sweets....not to mention there is a special hello kitty gift basket hunny bunny has spent all year putting together for all the pre-vets.........so c'mon in don't be shy, this doggy is all bark no bite

umm me thinks i jumped the gun, as i was able to get some information back.....DragonVap i do not think your time was leap year adjusted

dragonvap will turn with the next forum refresh at 25 minutes after the hour the next time he's online!
Lol. The non-obvious part in #1 of my post above is "had activity". DragonVap "went offline" before the turning time and hasn't been on since (yet). I think that's there to prevent inactive accounts from being changed...if they ever log on again they change soon after.
We used this "feature" to schedule turnings for a specific time. They would stay logged off until a particular time when they could be there and "party". Handy for those that signed up at 2:00 a.m. but wanted to party at 10:00 a.m. with the group the next day...or some such.

Thank you all for this its OK like I said I am a very patient person. And I am just happy that I have been around here for a whole year, with all of you folk, and all of you here have helped me to stay analog free for a complete year! To me that is amazing I could never have achieved that if it were not for ECF.
