Yes, breaktru has posted some amazing stuff, quite a guy. I wish I could do some of the same, but the stuff I've been doing is all chips and circuit boards, not what most people are interested in doing.

The stuff you're doing Craig sounds amazing, and would like to hear more and see some pics; but it's completely over my head :D You provide a lot of knowledgeable responses here on ECF and it is very much appreciated!

Thanks, I think so to, I'm vaping on a 30W booster mod with a 5000mAh battery. It has pushbutton digital voltage control and a touch trigger. It uses a 2 digit LED display for batt capacity and voltage (4-6V). It has high speed passthru charging (5 hours from flat). My new one I'm working on now will have even more features, but a smaller form with a 2200mAh battery. That's one is going to have a full text mode display (16 characters x 2 lines) which will provide much more information.

My husband could probably learn a thing or two from you. I guess i'd just never talked to you before. Hi, I'm Jen!!! Congrats on turning vet!!! I think that's awesome!!! circuit boards are probably too complicated for most people. I'm still wondering if I should open up one of my 4 broken laptops in my closet to see if they have 18650 batteries in them :)

Don't waste your time, they probably have CR 2032 wafer batteries.

I know you're probably kidding, but people have actually discussed this. You can get the good Japanese 18650s out of laptop packs. However, Li-Ion batts don't last that long, they degrade with both age and charge/discharge cycles. So, they probably would be too worn to be of any real use. Plus, they don't use the same protection circuitry so you have to add the little round protection boards to the individual cells to use them. All in all, just not worth the trouble. But, if you want the very best cells regardless of time and money, that's how you can get them. You would want to pull them from brand new, brand name laptop packs.
