hey i'm back, sorry for the houdini moment...

I think most everyone left.... I'm up late. I'll try a short explanation. See the 1st post in the thread.
Basically, you pick a theme, and we all change avatars for your turning time. Like an avatar costume party. You can change your or not. It's only temporary anyway. It can be anything you like. Hobby, favorite show, world peace, whatever. Think about it, let us know, and then we'll help you get your post count up and "turn" vet.

Once you get approximately 70 post, you will obtain Vet status. Where it says Full Member, will then say ECF Veteran.
We are celebrating the person's day by changing our Avatars to a theme of their choice. In your case, you'd pick and we'd change ours.
You'd also get a Welcome Thread started in the Veteran's Forum. Until you are a Vet, you cannot see this Forum.
It might be helpful to go read the opening post of this thread and then coming back.
In the mean time, I will post the list of upcoming events which will explain some things too.

Welcome to the ECF Pre-Vet thread!
A Pre-Vet is an ECF member that is about to have their status "Turn" to ECF-Veteran on or about the anniversary of their ECF sign up. You also need anywhere from 70 and 75 post.
This thread is where you can hang out (courtesy of Whiskey creating this thread) and celebrate becoming an ECF-Veteran with other ECF members. You have the option (but not the obligation) to have an Avatar Theme Celebration on your turning day. You select a theme, and many of the group here will help celebrate by changing their avatars. Kind of an avatar costume party. You'll also get a bunch of congrats and a welcome thread created in a sub-forum for vets that pre-vets can't even see yet. If you want to have an avatar theme, start thinking about it!
We will not turn away last minute request, but please try to give us enough advanced notice so we can dig something up for pics. Two weeks prior to your turning date would be awesome.
We try to limit scheduling to the current and the following month.
If you are a pre-veteran and want a welcome thread in the Veteran's Forum and or an avatar theme for your turning day please do the following: Post in this thread and PM me your request.
This thread moves fast so as a final safeguard double check the list that is posted here several times a day sometime before your turning day.

We do our best to accommodate multiple members turning on the same date. Each member is free to choose their own theme; participants rotate and/or combine themes as desired.
Joining in on the celebration is for all members (new and old) so please feel free to participate in the themes for others if you wish. If you are not a Vet yet and want your pic added to Celebrant's thread in the Veterans Forum, there is a Depot located in the Sandbox.
Once you get to the Sandbox, look for the celebrant's thread and follow instructions.

Just a regular avatar---you need special permission to do animated.
We've had request for Betty Boo, Wizard of Oz, Wine, and the list goes on. LOL
Just think of something you are really into or just like and we'll try are darnedest to do it.

If you want help in making an avatar for you, yes there are people that will do it!!!
I can't remember what the restrictions are but they should be in the ECF rules.
Anyway think of an idea and get back to me way before you make 70.
I guess when you ask for no fanfare, you get it. I lterally L'd O L when I saw jj2's avi. You folks are awesome. And pretty darned funny, too! Thanks for all the love.

Think of it as if you were the guest of honor at a themed costume party. Say the theme is .... IDK "Iron Man the Movie". We'd all pick characters from Iron Man, and slap "Congrats uAdC" on em. Avatar changes are global, so all the messages we've ever posted throughout the forum would have the new avatar for the duration. The idea is to pick something that you are interested in.

Size restrictions are different for different level member, and depends on if you are a supporting member.
