Very little, Whis. I'll wait until it's reasonably certain as to what we are going to get. From the look of the radar image that Tib posted, it's going farther inland than predicted.

yep, but i'm still hoping it might turn east .......

can do very little prepping here, my only concern are the pines and there is nothing i can do about them. i'm stocking up and will charge everything chargeable in case of an outage which seems likely

Southern California, Whis. You only have to deal with earthquakes and brush fires out there. Compared to our weather here in the northeast, it should be easy living out there. lol

i'm back from town but irene has not changed for the better. tropical storm force winds for our area and i'm surrounded by very tall pines.

jj, keep an eye on the sandbox saturday thru sunday, we might lose electricity during the storm.

Yeah, Whis. They predicted about the same amount of rain here, but they didn't give a wind estimate. I would guess around 80 or 90 mph for us.

The problem with hurricanes is, I assume, that they are so big and the winds so sustained. So a 65 mph wind for a storm that lasts 1 hour is one thing, when it lasts for 2 days.................
