actually IATSE is the stagehand's union... it covers sound techs, lighting techs, stagehands and carpenters.. essentially all of the non-performing artists involved in a theatrical production... it's the little five-point logo you'll see in the credits of almost all movies and TV shows

Sadly the union doesn't apply to my band, only to the occasional sound gigs I pick up around here... they're a lot of work, but a lot of fun, and some cool stuff to boot... I can officially say I've been a "roadie" for REO Speedwagon, OK Go, and the Russian National Ballet, among countless others
mandatory 15's every 4 hours, at least a half hour lunch on an 8 hour shift... and of course a minimum of $18.75/hour here in my IATSE chapter

My brother does roadie/stage building/electrical in Ohio. Loves it. (even with no union)
Where in Ohio CES? If he's around Cleveland, there's a remote possibility that I've met him along the way...
