Want me to confuse you further?! My MIL is also from India, my parents and hers are from Goa, India. Her brothers are in London. MIL was visiting them, and then swung by here..

How did we meet?! Parents got us started ofcourse. Don't you know? India is the land of "arranged marriage". LOL.

She was in London, I was in Toronto. We got talking, she came over, I asked her to marry me in 7 days, she asked "What took you so long?" and the rest as they say is History!!

Good show! :thumb:

I'm less confused a little. Arranged marriage, and it worked? Wow! What took you so long?

You got me beat. It took me 1 month to propose and 6 months to get married. It was a trial period and we lived in sin.

LOL.. we did the "Civil" wedding almost immediately but took almost 2 years to get the "BIG" wedding done in India. You know the kind?! 400 plus people, couple dozen barn yard animals lost their lives, etc etc.. Apparently we were "living in sin" the whole of those 2 years according to the parents because in the Catholic Church's eyes we were not married under God!!

Oh but what fun it was to live in Sin! ;)

Hopefully, it was paid for by the parents according to tradition. Who can afford 400 guests, never mind the farm animals?

They're paying for it now. Unwritten pact. They have to come visit their grandchild at-least once a year, and talk to her on Skype at-least once a week. Every other year, we make a trip down there..
