A couple miles up the road from me a guy opened up a chicken market. He would sell them alive or butcher them for you if you didn't want to wait just place an order and come back in an hour. His business FAILED royally. people are so use to seeing their food in a freeze wrapper that the only people that would buy from him was old folks.

In Jamaica the restaurants all have chickens running around in the yard. It takes about 2 hrs to get your food. I am pretty sure they are making it fresh
Can't get any fresher than that. There is or was a restaurant in Plymouth, Massachusetts that was right on the harbor. Small boats, loaded with seafood would float up to the back door and deliver it. I had a seafood platter, with scallops, shrimp, clams, all fresh and delicious.
