I don't think he scares that easily. I didn't give him much chance to reply tho... the good news is that he didn't send me a "F-OFF POPS" PM so maybe we're OK.....

It wasn' t supposed to be exclusive to him, only to reinforce the general point (which he probably didn't have enough time to absorb). I should have butted out, I guess.

atty - i think we all have misunderstood comments in the past but between friends that shouldn't be a problem. we got a great group here .......... possibly this all was brought on by reaching 100000 posts. but who cares what our post count is?

well fran had been posting pic after pic for days on end so i thought it was cool. but i'll never post another one in here again. i think a pm asking would've been more congenial than coming out with me and fran need to get out of the spirit and then jag & nat getting collateral damage. the assumption that steelyjan might've been 'scared away' might be way off base too.
imo we need another thread for some of us to socialize in because i think that's what ecf is really about. i was never interested in my own turning or anyone elses really. i just did it to be polite because i wanted to socialize with you guys. but i'll just move over the jokers or somewhere rather than worrying about what i post or when i post it. sincerely sorry to have caused such a fuss cause when it was fran only there was no problem.

I do believe that was the point of most of the posts lately. I had not been on regularly for a while, then I seemed to recall someone saying they were doing their best to help the thread post count. Thought I had missed something in the many pages I had skipped; so didn't really think much of the pic posts; just assumed that it was something that had been discussed.

I just want to take a minute here to put a link that is strictly for goofing off with pictures...I think too many off theme pictures are being posted on this thread...I am not singling ANYONE out...in this link(thread) you can post any pictures you want to post(within ECF rules)

Picture posting is welcome if they are related to the current celebration but please wait until the guest of honor is present and please keep it to a reasonable amount.
As for our own entertainment, a pic here and there - depending what's going on atm - is great.
For those who want to post multiple pictures (especially if they are not related to the celebration), do so here.

This is posted in the FAQ if you need the link in the future.
And PLEASE PLEASE don't take this personally like some other have. Please.

jj I'm not going to take it personnally at all but I was previously told the day of the turning. Nothing about the turnee being present. Sooooooooo River isn't going to be present tomorrow and this means I can't post wolves for him??

Just an observation:
As fast as this thread has always moved it is a chore to back read. When I came in today and saw the pics I just thought it was the theme of the day and jumped right in too.

Have you ever been at a gathering of people... a crowd... and had the feeling that "I just have to get out of the room for a bit and get some air"... because even though you don't mind any of the individuals, and would welcome talking with them in a small gathering, that all at once there's just too many and you need a breather?

Its like that with posts too. Volume. Its not any one person, but collectively the volume is just drowning out the purpose of the thread. We need to keep it on topic.

I was saddened today to hear of Whiskey's step-mom's passing. But it was real hard for me to find the post where she talked about it. Took me like 5 minutes with all the other posts going on, but I finally back-read enough to find it. Needle in a haystack.

So I agree with the others that some social posting is normal, but the volume of miscellaneous stuff needs to be minimal.
