Pre veteran thread (2011)

Tib, how's your pup? When are you seeing your vet?

still waiting on a call-back. we've been to our local vet repeatedly but he thinks at almost 13 there is not much more to be done. buck is max's littermate whom we lost last summer. my husband had rescued 3 from that litter years and years ago when the mama dog stopped feeding them at about 2 weeks - eyes were still closed.

CES, I think we have a hummingbird nest in a palm tree just at the entrance to our house. We don't want to get too close yet, but we do see two hummers go back and forth all the time. If/when they hatch, I'll try to take some pics.

Yes, we have a lot of hummingbirds here. And a trumpet vine, just like the one in your avi...

I'm so sorry. I know the feeling, and I remember Max. Thirteen is pretty old for the big breeds. My thoughts are with you. I know it hurts, Tib.

Trumpet vines are beautiful...We had one growing around our entire fence that holds our dogs in the yard..HUGE Vine...they almost turn into trees...Then I read that the blossoms & fruit they put out are extremely TOXIC to dogs if they eat or chew on them...we had to uproot the entire vine that reached all the way around the yard...it still try's to come back up every year & I don't want to use chemicals to kill the roots, as it rooted in multiple places...what a pain!!!

(((Tib)))) it's so hard to watch them get older. I hope there is enough to keep him comfortable and mobile. Sending warm thoughts and light your way.

i love hummingbirds- we have a few around here. they are so fun to watch. I hope you can get some good pictures.

we'll give it one more try with a neurologist and hope for the best. i know the years cannot be rolled back but maybe we'll have one more summer.
