When I first got down to Savannah, I spent about 10 minutes staring at a palm tree. I must have looked like an idiot, but I had never seen a real palm tree before, just pictures.

I had never been out of New England, until I went into the Army. I thought that everyone had cold and snowy winters.
It's a thought, Cindy, but I have my dad here and he is 90. I hate to leave him alone and I'm not sure that I trust my family to take good care of him.

I know it, Cindy, I have seen some of it, I will see more of it again, someday. If you are going to visit New England, do it in early October, the weather is gorgeous and the leaves are turning into their spectacular colors. That is the best time of the year, around here.

Do Northern New England (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire) in the second week of October and then Southern New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut) in the third week of October.
