If ET wanted to take over the world, all they would have to do is come as HOT women in HOT shoes.. The guys would fall for the girls, and the girls would fall for the shoes. The battle would be lost even before it begins.. just sayin'!
SETI's data is a subset of the Hipparcos catalog though, which itself is a catalog of only about 120,000 stars or a tiny fraction of the 200-400 billion stars in our galaxy alone.
I'm telling you, just our own galaxy itself is teeming with life -- and Al Gore knows about it!
Nah. They wouldn't even have to come down here. All they'd have to do is have every television station start playing Jersey Shore on endless loop. Eventually we'd all kill ourselves or each other.

The aliens are coming, The aliens are coming, or so says the extremely HOT Oracle (Whiskey!).. I always knew she was slightly weird. That silly vaping kitty and grinning dog have recruited Frank from MIB and in association with Atty have created an interstellar rip in the space time continuum. Hell is about to be unleashed on earth in the form of HOT women wearing Manolo Blahniks..
Not to worry, I have recruited the Enterprise and we will zoom away to the Alpha centauri system at Warp 14 (15 is too fast!) and find a safe haven after we've done some sight-seeing ofcourse. Hopefully, BR remembers to take the garbage out before we leave.

All welcome threads should be started in the Veterans Forum by four o'clock the day before.
Welcome to the ECF Pre-Vet thread!
A Pre-Vet is an ECF member that is about to have their status "Turn" to ECF-Veteran on or about the anniversary of their ECF sign up. You also need anywhere from 70 and 75 post.
This thread is where you can hang out (courtesy of Whiskey creating this thread) and celebrate becoming an ECF-Veteran with other ECF members. You have the option (but not the obligation) to have an Avatar Theme Celebration on your turning day. You select a theme, and many of the group here will help celebrate by changing their avatars. Kind of an avatar costume party. You'll also get a bunch of congrats and a welcome thread created in a sub-forum for vets that pre-vets can't even see yet. If you want to have an avatar theme, start thinking about it!
We will not turn away last minute request, but please try to give us enough advanced notice so we can dig something up for pics. Two weeks prior to your turning date would be awesome.
We try to limit scheduling to the current and the following month.
If you are a pre-veteran and want a welcome thread in the Veteran's Forum and or an avatar theme for your turning day please do the following: Post in this thread and PM me your request.
This thread moves fast so as a final safeguard double check the list that is posted here several times a day sometime before your turning day.

We do our best to accommodate multiple members turning on the same date. Each member is free to choose their own theme; participants rotate and/or combine themes as desired.
Joining in on the celebration is for all members (new and old) so please feel free to participate in the themes for others if you wish. If you are not a Vet yet and want your pic added to Celebrant's thread in the Veterans Forum, there is a Depot located in the Sandbox.
Once you get to the Sandbox, look for the celebrant's thread and follow instructions.
