It's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation. I vape discreetly. lol

It's a non-smoking facility, too by the way. However, the smoking area (that doesn't really exist but it does) is right by the sign that says this is a non-smoking facility, blah, blah, blah...

You took me back with asking - when I started hospital nursing, you could smoke in the breakroom (the doctors could smoke at the nurses' station, of course) and buy cigs in the gift shop. Patients could smoke in their rooms, too, as long as there wasn't any oxygen.

My, how times have changed.

lol. I'm just old enough to remember that some people used to smoke in the grocery stores. lol. Also, in the open areas of malls and such.

I have a semi-private office , off by myself but no door. I vape at my desk (lately all day, been a lull in the workload). My boss is cool with it. He's an at home only smoker, and I helped him order a 510 kit a month or two ago; but he hasn't stuck with it.
Funny story: A couple of weeks ago, I'm at my desk and just took a huge drag off my PV and he walks in. He starts talking to me and I'm trying to discretely let the vapor out of my nose. He stops talking, looks at me and says "Go on, I feel like I'm talking to a dragon" and rolls his eyes. We both got a chuckle out of that.

I work for a large chemical research company and when I started there 22 years ago, you could smoke in the lab. People would be working in their fume hoods with a cig hanging out of their mouths.

My bosses had been after me to quit smoking for years--they actually pulled me aside one day, offering me a bonus if did.

That I didn't is testimony, I suppose, to just how omnipotent the smoking addiction can be.

In any event, the pure crap-in-a-tube disposable that was my first PV was bought as something of a novelty, a curiosity. And it had practical-joke potential. Very cigarette like (it even had a brown "filter"), I thought it would be funny to blow billows of smoke in the office, in the vicinity of boss #1's baby-blues, just to watch his reaction to my grounds-for-dismissal audacity.

I recollect his expression--a complete deadpan--and his heartfelt comment: "Good for you, Trace."

I was fractured with disappointment and self-reproach--how difficult would it have been to tape over the LED? But needless to say, I'm free to vape with impunity in my office.
