Actually, I was driving on a freeway once when an earthquake hit--it feels like a flat tire... You can't control you car very well.

Howdy All. YIKES earthquake. Growing up in N Central Ky we had a few mild ones. Hope all are okay. We had a small one a few miles south of us last year attributed to the shale gas drilling.

I'm turning Vet tomorrow, Aug 24.

What is major for me, right now, is horses. Margie=mlinky has stirred up a lot of my love for horses. I grew up in Shelbyville, Shelby Co. Ky, The Saddled Horse Capital of The World and schooled at Crabtree Stables, The Major Horse Stable and training facility in the world, back then, for American Saddlebred Horses. That was in the early 60's before there were any more major Saddlebred Farms in Shelby Co. My Mother did Helen Crabtree's hair and wigs. That's how my parents afforded my schooling and riding there. The World Am. Saddlebred Championship Horse Show is taking place, in Louisville, at Ky State Fair, all week. If my Replay A/V is working I'm recording most of the live streaming of the shows. When I got home, last night it had crashed, so I don't know how much I didn't get.

Anyway, I've decided to stay with horses, same as bjannr.

I've only owned one "horse" since I left Ky, in 1971. He was a parade, jumping pony mule named Patches; all white except for a few faint red patches. He loved children and women but went out of his way to injure men. Must have been some bad experiences in his past. He was the best seat I've ever been up on with a gait that was similar to a Peruvian Paso, one of my favorite breeds of horse.

Have to run. Short on time today. Hope everyone has a fine, safe day.

Thank you jj2, mlinky, Rhapsodies Fire and others for directing me over here.

Love and appreciation, Alice

yep, more worried about irene .....

get home safely, mind .....

Thanks. :) Although with all the construction and paving going on between here and my house, I'll probably be going too slow to get into any accident worse than that caused by the sudden excitement of being able to move forward ten inches.
