yep, i got activated charcoal in my fridge .... but it depends on what toxin it is. don't know what's in those rat cubes.....

Traditionally it is warfarin (Coumadin). But they have recently introduced a different chemical whose name escapes me.

We use a live trap for mice.... peanut butter bait. The mouse enters into the trap... walks over a see-saw ramp and turns a corner and goes for the PB. The ramp falls back down, locking him in. Works well. IDK what brand to tell you offhand. I'll find out. Kinda late for the immediate crisis... may be better to switch to these for the future. They have em for mice and rats (bigger... but same mechanics).

My man, Atty! I have a bunch of those humane traps. I use dog food or seeds in them. The mouse wlaks in, the door shuts, we grab the trap and drive away to release the mouse somewhere in the wild... It has to be at least one mile from your house or they'll be back.

Just look up humane traps... There are several models. No poisons, no cruelty, no suffering.. And my kids love releasing the mice!

Vitamin K is the antagonist for warfarin - but in people, we give it intravenously. I believe the warfarin used in rat poison is altered chemically and requires a different approach and I don't think (I could be wrong) there is anything to be given by mouth to counter it.

I don't bother the mice, in the wild. They have even set up housekeeping in my shed and I leave them alone. When they get into the house or garage, that's another matter. :grr:

Chances are Tibs... that the toxin is already stored in the dogs liver and being metabilized.... IDK if there's an anti-toxin. Gummy will have to research it but the vet already talked to him, and would know, so....... IDK.

I'm sure we all wish the pup good luck in this.

let's hope comes morning gummy will have good news ......
