Boy, you're up with all this. When and where did steam punk come from?

Steampunk is actually a sub-genre of scifi; sort of an alternate history genre where there's no internal combustion engines; steam engines are still in use. People have talked of building a steampunk mod; where you'd have a 'rough' metal mod with 'artfully' placed gears.
