It sounds like you don't need my help at all. You've got plenty of firepower. All I did was make a table in Access, song title, artist and link, and a yes/no field for whether it's downloaded. I like them on my PC, so I don't have to tie up the net connection all the time.

Sounds like something a friend and I did for one of our database classes in school. We created a database that was pretty similar and called it "SpankyToons." We got an A on the project as well as a "scolding." We met all the requirements for the project, but the instructor was hoping for something done in Oracle or MS SQL, not Access and wanted to see multiple tables being utilized. She really couldn't fault us for finding the loopholes because she hadn't made any specifications on software or number of tables.

Well... I read back. I'm not going into the sports, since the Tigers didn't make the World Series.. I don't want to talk about it.

Hi to all of you that show up since my last run-by.

Yikes! Classy and whiskey.

I have a 2TB NAS (network attached storage) that any pc on my network can connect to nice little gadget I have all my music and ebooks on there and backed up on another external hard drive that automatically backs up every night.

You rock.

Later.

Now I know why you're not getting enough sleep! :p

3 PCs on a wireless router here, one for me, one for wife, one for TV, all low end machines. I cut my satellite. Yes! I'm so cheap. ;)

Just a database comment - I've taught myself over the years to use PHP/MySQL for website use. I've used free web servers (Sambar was latest) for running off my desktop and as a server for a website at work on the intranet. Then again, as I said, all 'self taught' so far from an expert. :D

@Cranky - check out Podiobooks.com for free 'podcast' novels (can also get podiobooks novels from iTunes) - I have (had?) hundreds if not 1000s of ebooks at one time. Peer-to-peer (ie LimeWire) used to be good for ebooks (yeah I know, my bad :))

Ok....laterzzzz

My school project was...video rental tracking. So boring I know. Ooh, relational database. Ahem, data integrity, data integrity. OK, I won't bore Whis with this anymore. :D
