Jag, we had an earthquake here not too long ago.. in Virginia! I think it was like a 5.8 and I'd hate to feel what a strong one is like. That was freeeeeeeeaky. One just doesn't think of VA and earthquakes in the same thought.

Not to me. You and I are in the Juan de Fuca subduction zone, the plate out in the ocean. It'll do a big one, I just don't know when. I didn't even feel that 5.3 though, still 200 miles away...fingers crossed.

Yeah, near Richmond, where my in-laws live. Met my wife in Arlington, VA, went to NOVA. I've been everywhere man!

5.8 is nothing...unless you're in a brick house. Generally, solid bedrock will do ok. It's landfill or sandy soil!
