I didn't think it would be so much nicer than just reading a book--then I used my daughter's!

Exactly right! I hated the idea till I got mine. I wanted to turn the pages, hold the book in my hand, blah, blah.... I never looked back!

I still love paper books, don't get me wrong, but the Nook is my friend now!

Uh oh, y'all playing in my bailiwick now :D.

I am a VORACIOUS reader, mainly sci-fi/fantasy/horror; and always have been. When I was in grade school, we lived out in the country; our 'local' library started a 'borrow books through the mail' program. Fill out a form, send it in, and they would mail the books to you. You read them, sent them back within 3 wks along with the next 'order'. That's what started me out  Have been constantly reading since then.
I, too, was one who wanted to turn the pages, etc ;). But then carrying multiple books everywhere started to be a pain (what if I finished my book during work breaks and didn't have another  :D).
I started out with a Rocket eBook

a bit larger than a paperback.

Dropped that thing one too many times and broke the screen. Then got a Franklin eBookMan:

This was much smaller and could fit in a pocket, a large pocket ;).

From there went to PDAs, B&W to COLOR, and GAMES!

Got an iPod touch a couple of years ago and started off reading books on it. Now AUDIO BOOKS! Don't have to wait for breaks at work to read anymore  I gots people to read to me!
