Hi everyone. This may open a hornets nest, but perhaps we should state that a request for a welcome thread/party, will require a commitment from the new vet, to make an appearance, on the pre-vet thread, on their turning day? I don't think it's too much to ask, considering the work that you people do, to give them a memorable turning day.
The welcome thread is pretty much a no frills now because they want one but aren't on here much so don't want anyone going to a lot of trouble.
I can't very well tell them no when they ask just because they aren't all that active.
And people with hardly any activity, Tom leaves off his list.

That is a requirement for the Avatar Partys!!! And I make it clear from the get go.
The Topic Theme and welcome thread is voluntary for anyone here because there is no guarantee.
Not bad Jerry, however I think we need to reserve an option for people that know they won't be available during their turning date but appreciate the well-wishes and congrats (like when they get back from vacation, business trips, etc....). I think the thread thing serves that purpose well. 2 cents.

Exactly Atty, if they want a welcome thread, but have a legitimate excuse to not be there, when they turn, that's ok. We have had that happen and it's not a problem.
