Congratulations Janet. Looks like you have had a wonderful turning party. Sorry I'm late but just had to stop by.

Love the photo Mike snapped of the hummer.

We have so many visiting our feeders that I have to fill them 3 times a week. I have 4 of them and they each hold a quart. I do love watching them.

Our old feeder drew tons of bees and ants so I got a Humm Zinger feeder that seems to be working much better. Once we know where we're moving to I may set up a couple of them for next year. They are amazing creatures. Do you make your own nectar? With this 1 feeder I'm going through about a quart every 10-14 days.

Yes I do. I would really go broke if I tried feeding them store bought nectar. I just mix it @ 4 cups sugar, several drops of red food coloring and enough water to fill my 1 gallon pitcher. The food coloring isn't really necessary to attract the hummers but it makes it easier for me to tell when I need to refill the feeders.

I solved my ant problem by making a plastic cone out of 5 qt ice cream container lid and smearing it with Vaseline. I don't have a really big problem with bees since I have enough feeding stations for them all to share. 2 of the feeders only have 4 stations but the other 2 have 10 stations each.
